Manix 2 XL

In my humble & novice opinion, one of the very best value knives Spyderco has ever offered. Ergos and cutting performance are just outstanding. I say this due to being without one now for a few months, but also because I just received a new one this a.m. ( via Rob,@National Knife- thanx again buddy). This one is a perfect specimen imo. Centered and will just absolutely roll the hair right off your arms lol. Hopefully, I'll be able to post some pics in the next few days. It's funny, as I like to think I have some very nice high $$$ Spydies, like the Southard, 204P Domino, the S90V Millie, Nilakka, etc...but man, that Manix XL, imo is just a must have. As I said before, I really hope to get some pics up asap. We just sold our house in Asheville,NC & just arrived back home in Banner Elk,NC. Only a 90 minute drive, but nonetheless, a royal PITA, as most know moving is lol.
I look forward to being back on the forum fellas. Jmh, thank you for your pm my friend. - as of late, I've been busy spending my Spydie money on Sig X5 pistols. I'll post some pics of those as well :)

Welcome back MacLaren. The big Manix is indeed a fine knife. I actually prefer the ergos to the regular Manix.

Hey paul, great to see you back, missed your input and great pics, hope to see you around more.
As far as the XL goes I've got a couple of the EDC exclusives and they are nice, just haven't gotten around to carrying one much yet, I like the GITD scales but they seem like they might be a little slick when wet, I've thought about getting the G10 and would jump on the S90V exclusive if I could find one for a decent price.

Welcome back!
The XL is a great knife. I also prefer it to the regular Manix 2.

Welcome back Mac! Good to see you post again... I have to agree that the XL is sometimes overlooked by some. I also sold off my last one and am seriously thinking about reversing that situation.
Again, good to hear from you...

Welcome back.
Banner Elk is a nice little town. I used to work in Boone and drove through Banner Elk often.

I love all my spydies, but I guess I'd have to say that the M2 XL is my favorite, the last one I'd want to let go of. I've got the black blade S30V and the CF S110V, and they fit my hand better than any other. Admittedly, I don't carry them as much as some smaller ones, but I enjoy carrying a wide variety, so they all get a few days of pocket time occasionally.

Huge XL fan as well. It was my first Golden spydie and I was blown away by how much knife it was for under $100 (at the time, at least)! The ergos are amazing and I also prefer it to the regular manix. I'm with doug, it's my favorite Spyderco design, but I don't carry it as often due to size. Sometimes our favorite things aren't the most practical, but that's what the Delica is for!

I have MANY fine folders but the Manix 2 XL keeps finding its way in my pocket. I would go to war with that thing. It has one of the very best locking mechanisms ever made, S30V perfection, it's large enough for both self defense and survival, and perfect ergos for me. My Spyderco Military just sits in the safe with many other high dollar folders. There is no better knife offered in that price range. I recommend using the zip tie mod to make it a wave, opens like grease lightning.
