Saying goodbye with a few pictures

#1

Post by MarcusH »

Time moves on.
I will take a break collecting knives for at least one year, therefore I won't be active here for some time.
The display cases are stored in the attic and almost all knives are packed in boxes, only a few classics will accompany me throughout the next year.
As a little farewell to all fellow forumites a few pictures of these classics.
Take care, Marcus.

Nice collection(kopa looks excellent).

Enjoy your time away.

We'll be here when you get back.

I have actually moved on from the knife life. I do still carry my favorites(and use them especially) but I have stopped buying knives and packed away the rest.

I'm enjoying amateur radio very much now but I still come on the forum often(to troll Deacon :p).

I hope you can drop by occasionally even if you're away from the knife life.

Brother MARCUS it truly saddens me to see that you have to take a sabatical away from the Forum. Because your contributions are some of the ones I look most forward to. Your collection out of the GOLDEN ERA of SPYDERS is truly one of the very best on the entire forum and your tastes in these classic models truly parallels my favorites as well.

I've had issues come up in my life in the past few years to where I had to take time off myself so I do completely understand but we do look forward to hopefully your speedy return. Great pictures of those GOLDEN ERA Spyders and I'm sure your collection will get even better. I do hope that all works out well for you and I do sincerely thank you again for the help you've given me and the information on GOLDEN ERA Spyders you've put forth.

I hope we see you back very soon. I do hope you can land a SPYKER model because it would go so well with that great collection of yours. Keep in touch and we'll see you soon. JD :spyder: O

The SpyKer is already here, sitting in it's pouch on my attic. :)
Thanks for the good wishes to you, Joe, and to all other forumites!
At some some point in the future we will meet here again. :spyder:

Enjoy your break Marcus. While I haven't stepped away completely, I have certainly diminished my knife buying and time spent on the various forms. Don't worry, Spyderco will still be here when you decide to come back!

Thanks for your contributions and good luck in the future.

As for me, I've thought about taking breaks too. Lately there is less and less that interests me on the forum and in the knife world in general. I've analyzed this and look at it from different perspectives...one is just that there isn't much going on that relates to me/my knife/my interests, and that's gonna happen from time to time. Another is that I'm feeling pretty content with my knives and needs at the moment, which no doubt adds to the lack of interest. Another is that my job role has changed a lot over the last few years which has drastically cut down on my time to use knives at all, so unless I find something around the house or outside to cut on, I'm just sitting here fondling them at my desk which gets boring to a user like me. But, spring is here and I've made a promise to myself to get out of the house more this year so hopefully that all changes.
