It's nothing like that. Just a very classy engraved pattern with a different surface treatment.

I really hope they didn't do like a Foundry style graphic or engraving across the handle... just my opinion though.

It does sound like it may be bigger than I'll need or use... but maybe it's good for them if they fill a gap for demand of size between Slysz Bowie and K2.

the nirvana's look is created in a totally different way then the foundry if i remember correctly
(its dificult sometimes because there was so much intel on so much knives)
the graphic "lines" are cnc machined like the ti fluted designs. :) .

Ah yeah I gotcha.
Is the graphic one large Spyder, or many little Spyders?

Needer. its more of a patern of cnc machined lines that looks like the "broken" ground on dryed up lakes or the desserts. :)
Best way i can describe it. :)

Ahhhh, ok, I've seen that pattern hand engraved on a Rassenti custom. I know exactly what you're talking about now, thanks.

100% agree- It looked far more in keeping with the lines of the knife than the image above

Indeed more like that one but like the others say a little cleaner and more fitting by the lines of the knife also the engraving is more with straight lines. :)
I think you can call it the "spyderco idea" of that nirvana you posted. :)

Thanks, LC. This tells us the general street price neighborhood, as I find that KW is usually pretty competitively priced.

However, I'll add my general advice against preordering a production knife. They'll be readily available for a long time to come, and I've found that production knives release a tad higher than the price they settle to, which goes double for models in this price range (see: stepped Chaparral).

But, if you absolutely have to be the first kid on the block with a Nirvana, perorder away. KW is a solid dealer.

If I can:
1. Support our many good online retailers
while still...
2. Getting the best price possible (more spydies!)
...then that's what I'm gonna do. Patience is a virtue!

Yeah I wasn't going to put any money down on a pre-order. I have only ever pre-ordered the green PM2 from Knifeworks before. I would probably never pre-order a production knife. I was just posting the price to help give a better idea of what the Nirvana might end up costing. I find Knifeworks is almost always the cheapest option, hence why I just ordered a Ronin 2 from them for $80 :)

That is good advice though Tony, thanks!

Lamnia of Finland has their retail price for the Nirvana at $352. Even with shipping it is preferable to some of the domestic pre-order prices. I doubt the $400+ list prices will last too long once the knife is released (or once the second batch ships, I don't see these staying in stock very long).
