Broke Pocket Clip On My Delica

#1

Post by Johnnie1801 »

So I have been really busy lately and my Delica has been my constant companion. I came home for a quick lunch the other day and as I was preparing my sandwich my dog sidled up to me to get a piece of the action. I have a Great Dane :D Ayway, I was wearing shorts with north to south pockets and the end of the clip must have got caught on my dogs collar. I moved to get something from the fridge and the next thing I hear is a ping of something metal hitting the floor. I guess that quick step to the fridge was enough to bend the clip and snap it.

As you can see from the pics it snapped pretty cleanly and the screws were unaffected. I don't use loctite on my knives so they must be pretty strong to begin with.

As for the dog I punished him the best I could (removed the pillows from the couch :D )

P.S If you're reading this Sal, I promise I will buy 2 more Spyderco knives this month if you send me a new pocket clip. Well, I guess this is a mute point because I'm going to buy 2 anyway :D

Anyone have a good suggestion for a work knife? I was thinking lw manix 2 with s110v. Since the Delica is out of action now I'll need something else, preferably in frn.

Hi Johnnie,
Please contact our outlet store and they can help with a new clip to get your Delica back in your pocket. You can contact them via e-mail at sfo@spyderco.com. Clips are typically not a warranty item, but the cost is very nominal.

Make it a good day.
There is nothing more important than this one day.

Thanks Kristi, I'll keep that in mind but I'm guessing it will probably cost me more to have a clip shipped to Europe. And with my bad luck at the moment I'll probably get arrested for importing a "weapon of mass destruction" by customs :D
Sorry about the clip . The Manix2 LW is a great one!
Thanks Blerv, the only concern I have about the Manix 2 lw is the size of the blade but I don't think it's much of a difference from a Delica. The good thing is that it has a wire clip which I am guessing is a bit less liable to snap under pressure.

The manix 2 is a great knife, but be aware it is a pocket hog. Much larger than the delica 4. That said, my manix 2 is riding in my front right pocket now!

Hi Johnnie, I feel your pain! I guess even Spyderco clips are no match for a Dane's massive bulk. If you PM me your address, I'd be happy to send you one of my spare clips free of charge (assuming the USPS can ship it to you of course!). Just let me know! Cheers, Radioactive :)
