my Military is falling apart

My Military is literally falling apart..one of the small screws that holds the halves together is gone, and the hollow rivet on the end keeps working itself out..anybody else with similar problems? I'm a cop and carry and use it daily...

The only problem I have had is that when you take the clip off and put it back on the screws are really easy to strip.Better than stripeing the threads in the liner.

Welcome to the forum Hank ~ I've heard of this happening to another forumite, screws coming loose but I've not had it happen to my Millie. Might be a good idea to send it in to Spyderco for a service.

As you're a Policeman, I'm suprised you're not carrying a G-10 Police, a much more robust model with its single steel liner.

Loose/lost screws is ANOTHER reason why I like my Police model better than the Military. The only screws for the Police model are the three that hold the pocket-clip on.

Hank,

I'm pretty sure that Spyderco will send you another screw (or two) if you ask 'em to.

Welcome Hank,
I don't think you will have any problem getting another screw, just call the service dept and they will help you out. As for the police model for duty carry, I'm a cop also but I perfer the Endura II over the police model for duty use. The Endura is heaver in the blade and about a half inch shorter so it seems to sit better in my pocket when driving. Of course I also carry my Bob Lum T. sometimes, but then again I'm using my pro-grip at the moment... **** to tell the truth I guess I carry almost all of them every now and then.

I've carried my Millie faithfully both on and off duty for almost a year now. Only problem I've ever had was when I bent the clip and had to replace it myself. Other than that I've had no problems and it's still solid as the day I got it. GIve the good folks at SPyderco a call and I'm sure they'll help you out.

Well I seem to be following the Medic around the forum here, my second follow-up post in a row... good company, anyway.

I've been carrying my Military everyday, on duty and off for two plus years now. I too bent the clip, just had to remove it and straighten 'er out, no big deal. And I've had a torx screw loosen up once.

Now for the confession: I don't have a set of torx drivers small enough, but Radio Shack does. I stopped in and used their's to snug the screws up tight. I'm not sorry, and if need be, I'd do it again. <img src="wink.gif" width=15 height=15 align=middle border=0>
