Purple Dragonfly 2: requested by my wife

#1

Post by Doc Dan »

Hi Folks,

My wife wants a Dragonfly 2 in purple. She loves the orange one she swiped from me (I had to order two!) but wants one in purple. How many of you would like to see a purple DF?

Not a bad idea, Dan. That might make for a nice exclusive run. In the meantime, I wonder if you could dye one purple using RIT dye?

I never quite understood why the Dragonfly (or the Ladybug, for that matter) wasn't available in the same colours as the Delica and Endura.

And yes : I'd want one.

It does seem like a suitable color for the Dragonfly.

I like that idea a lot and have requested it repeatedly...

The other obvious one is a blue FRN Dragonfly. Cheers, Radioactive :)

the problem with purple is the amount of snails required for even a small run.

Yeah, I agree, I would love blue, especially if it were royal blue. My wife likes the idea of purple, though, and she carries the trump card ;)

Yes a purple DGF2 would be nice, I would get 2 one for the wife and one for me. That color would look sweet on a dragonfly

We'll need more dye than that, Sal will need to trap a few more of those snails ;) ! Thankfully they don't move too fast...

I found yet another request of mine for a purple Dfly:

My daughter has the tattoo model. She would prefer the purple. My wife would definitely carry one of these in her purse. Would make great gifts. How fast can that escargot?

Did you notice the discontinued part of that white Dfly listing? Not to mention also that's an older style version with that awful Volcano grip not the awesome bidirectional pattern they use now. We're all pretty keen on using RIT dye to change colors of G10 and FRN too:

I have a white Dfly (and Delica, Endura and Ladybug) but would never dye it. YMMV. Cheers, Radioactive :)

Yes I noticed the discontinued part of the website, it's still out there in the secondary market!

I happen to like the old volcano grip texture.

I'm sure the same process would work on a salt dfly.

Doc Dan, here is an example of a Rit dyed version if you haven't seen it yet. This isn't a recent pic, but it still looks the same. :)

I'd like to see the Salt version in a non-yellow color. But maybe the solution is to crank out white versions and let us dye them.
