Dealer Exclusive Poll

#1

Post by Liquid Cobra »

There have been many discussions about what we would want to see in a Sprint, but what would we like to see as a dealer exclusive? Unlike sprints, dealer exclusives seem to be selected from current production models, so no discontinued knives have been included in my poll. If that is incorrect please let me know. Sal has said that fitting something new into the production schedule in Golden would be difficult if not impossible for the next year or so. I figured for this we would stick to knives made in Taichung. Also, I've only listed steels made in America since that is what seems to be used in Taiwan, so no Japanese steels.

I've selected the Domino, Southard and the Dice for the poll along with 3 steels I though would be suitable. I purposely left a few knives off the list. I didnt think the Hungarian, Szabo folder or the Air appealed to a wide enough audience. Wasn't sure about the Techno either. Feel free to throw out other ideas if they aren't listed but lets try to keep to what is outlined above i.e.; Current production model, made in Taichung, U.S. steel. Maybe after this thread is done we can do another on scale colour/type.

Again, if something I've said is incorrect or doesn't make sense please feel free to correct me.

I'd like to see another dealer do an exclusive on the Domino......preferably either M390 or S110V with a CF lightening strike laminate of some nice metallic colour (like the Blue CF Domino.....potentially deep maroon or dark metallic forest green)

I voted S110V Southard. I love the high hollow grind and would love to see an exclusive from New Graham (for example) in foliage G-10

I unfortunately do not have any experience with any of those steels, but would take a swing and say the S110V Southard based on what I have heard about that steal and the fact that I absolutely love my Southard.

I have voted for Southard S110V, I hesitate to get one for the price at the moment, but I think I will pull the trigger if it is a S110V sprint run.

I have several options and didn't want to just stick to one......but the poll was only set up as only one choice. Can this be changed to a multiple selection poll at this time or is it stuck as picking your top choice only?

Southard in M4.

But as everyone knows, what we really need is a PM2 in M4. ;)

I think it's stuck like this. I'm trying to see what the number one option would be.

S110V Southard. Not that I actually want one, but it is already a very popular model, it would sell out on pre-orders.

Spyderco, I beg you to make the Southard FFG. PLEASE. It would be **** near the perfect production knife

That might persuade me ........as it is now, I just can't see the appeal. I've tried to like it but the closest I could come was to like (not love) the all black Southard but still feel that is is overpriced by about $50 at a minimum.....but this still wouldn't hold a candle to a new G10 or CF revised Stretch.
