I have one on the way from the BST area on another forum. I probably paid a bit too much, but by all accounts it looks like a great knife, and one that I really wanted for my collection. Has anyone here used one to any extent? I doubt mine will be a heavy user (not sure if it will be used much at all yet), but just curious. I guess it is like if you have a Ferrari that you rarely take over the speed limit. I would imagine you would still like reading about what it can do at the limit in the the various road tests published by the media.

I lent mine to Jim Ankerson to run through his edge retention tests and it performed exactly the same as S90V. Maybe ask Jim himself to see if he noticed anything?

After getting it back, I've used it for general around the house tasks, only thing that's really dulled it is cutting up an old rug but it was brought back to sharp with a few swipes of the brown medium SharpMaker rods. I didn't much like the PM2 before this (had two 204Ps, an M390, 20CP and a few plain janes all at various times and sold them all) but this one is just, I don't know, different. It feels much better balanced than the others. In fact I carried it today and although I didn't use it (Hossom Woodlander did the majority of my outdoors work today) I enjoy carrying it.

Was'nt there only 300 of those made?

I take mine out occasionally to ogle it and try not to breathe on it too much . I have #012V, the last of the first dozen...

That's what I hear. :) I have missed out on the first run of so many great past knives, I am so glad to have snagged this one. My wife and I love Asheville by the way. Lucky guy. We live close to Charlotte, but try to get up there when we can for art events, etc.

Glad to see it getting used a bit. :cool: I have read Jim's tests numerous times and messaged with him in the past. As I recall, he is sort of local to me as well. Thanks!

Careful sharpening it, before you know it you can be up into that laminate line. Mine came unevenly sharpened from Spyderco, by the time I fixed it I ended up taking off way too much.

Don't know how to do the "reply once to multiple quotes" thing yet. Anyway, are you in the CC? Cool number either way, very early. Congrats. The one I bought has no CC#. I was thinking perhaps this is even more rare? If there were only around 300 and 200 or so go to the CC, then it would make sense. Don't know if all CC knives are marked, etc, so not sure.

These could be the Spyderco version of the Smith & Wesson Registered Magnums. I wish I had one of those...
