How about a Sage 1 or 2 with CTS-XHP or maybe CTS-204p blade, what say you?

I just sharpened up my Sage 1 and I thought, they upgraded the Chaperral with CTS-XHP why not the Sage? I would buy a copy in a minute. In fact I would get both the Sage 1 and a Sage 2 with the new steel!*
Would any one else want a Sage "X" in a new steel?

I lijke xhp.a lot for the fine edge it takes and holds but I wouldn't say that its an.upgrade over s30v.

No interest myself, as both have wrong handed locks, but just to clarify, Spyderco intended for the entire Chaparral series to use XHP exclusively, but Carpenter could not deliver in time. That meant Spyderco had to choose between delaying the release of the CF version, or using something else for the the first run. They chose to release it using S30V. As for the Sages, while anything is possible, Sal has said more than once that the Sage platform is meant to showcase locks, rather than steels.

I don't know how Taichung works with Sprints and picking a knife of a series might make the project somewhat confusing since it's goal is to highlight the lock similar to how the Mule is designed to highlight the blade steel.
If all of that isn't a problem though and Spyderco wants to make it, I won't oppose :) .

Ok then, this rookie would like to know which steel would be an upgrade from S30V. Heh I have no complaints about S30V. I can get it extremely sharp with either my Sharp Maker or my Wicked Edge. I just wanted to see the Sage line up get some renewed attention. I just love my Sage 1. It was my first Spyderco.
After 5 Para2s, 5 Dragonflys, 5 Delicas, a Native 5, a Techno, a Caly 3, a Manbug and a couple of Benchmades (all in less than a year) I find myself back to EDCing my original Sage 1 and one of my Para 2s most of the time. I carry my Super blue Dragonfly sometimes if i need any fine laser like cutting.
I guess there is no chance the Sage will get different steel. Thats too bad...
