S110V Manix 2 1st Impressions

Just got this in today so I went over the knife and found it to be very nice, Fit and Finish are excellent, blade is centered, solid lockup, no play, grinds are even.

Measured the behind the edge thickness at .030", in the same range as the other Manix 2's that I have seen.

The testing process will be next on rope, cardboard and wood after I put my edge on it.

But for now the 1st Photos of it right out of the box, factory edge etc.

So that must make me the only person that doesn't have one. How did KW make Spyderco mad at them?

Not better yet, but good enough now to test, just have to take it slow, breaks etc.

Got done reprofiling it and sharpening it, not too bad, about 10 mins.. :)

Excellent! I bet it takes longer to become dull than it did to become sharp.

Nah, I haven't yet, either. Probably won't, waiting for the Native 5 CF/S110V. ;)

KnifeCenter has had it in stock for days now (and that's just one popular dealer among others). It was in stock after 6PM for two straight nights so it is less about "I had work" or "they are so hard to find" but more about an individual's other more personal reasons for not having one by now.

Hi Sal,

Thanks, it's really nice, it's a real cutter that's for sure from I have been seeing so far today. :)

320 cuts on 5/8" rope and still kicking strong. :D

Just taking it slow and easy. :D

I have my exercises that I have to do twice a day for physical therapy.

Maybe I can go back to work in a few months.... I hope...

Crazy knife.....

Still going and still no shiny spots on the edge at all... :)

Don't know what the **** Spyderco did to that S110V, whatever it was they did it right.... :D

It beat the S110V Mule Team and it's still going.....

They must have the heat treat completely worked out on the S110V. I was going to hold off on this one because I have the S110V Forum Native, and I already have a black Manix LW, but I may have to rethink that strategy...the M2 LW sure is great ergonomically. I'll be watching this thread closely for sure.
