Found an old Dragonfly clip so I decided to cut it in half and add it to my chaparral to replace the clip :D

Hey Holland,
Believe it or not, I had a similar idea to add a lanyard to my Pingo.
Only difference, I made a similar loop out of ss tig rod.

Yours looks awesome, btw!

Hey Spencer,
I didn't in any way mean to steal your thunder!
We just seem to be problem solvers who happened to utilize those unused grooves for something.
You know what they say; "great minds think alike".

I recall a thread here a few months ago where one of our fellow forum members posted a UKPK with a custom bent piece of wire clip that made this tiny little lanyard look. I need to try this on my Caly 3. Where is that spare dragonfly clip again.....?

I like how he still has the clip to go with it

Clever!
A bit extended though.
You could add a hole. Using a CARBIDE* drill bit would do the trick. Not cool with collectors though.

* Carbide won't burn out on the hardened steel spring holder.

I put it on my dragonfly instead. Think it's better suiting

I like the idea but I would definitely look into making it smaller like that UKPK has.

I'm glad it's serving you guys well, but it's not something I'd do to my Chaparral.

Yah i took it off both haha, didnt like how it ruined the reverse grip and got in the way of my thumb

How about just a loop that stands up only about 1/8 or so, really just enough wire to loop from one side of the clip grooves to the other, just enough to wedge paracord under. That way it wouldn't stick up or out too far and wouldn't hurt reverse grip.

Saw the title and thought, NOOO the horror! Invisoning a bubba-ed big nasty hole drilled with a cordless drill and a Walmart bit. I was delighted to see your creative solution instead. That said, I agree it looks more at home on the dragonfly than the classy chaparral.

I just put the lanyard on the wire clip. Do the same with all my wire clipped knives.

This is the best yet, in my opinion. I remember that UKPK.
