Fantastic knife! Been stealing a lot of pocket time for me lately, with 10 to choose from...that's saying something!

Decided to go back to the beginning. My first Spyderco was an Ambitious. I decided to get one after trying out a friends Tenacious and seeing what a great knife it was for an awesome price. Really like the size of the Ambitious for carry and stuck with it even when I had a chance to go with some other models. Fast forward and the more I got in to knives, the more I thought that I had to find something "better" so I sold it. Now that I've had a bunch of different knives and a bunch of different Spydercos in my hands, I miss that first knife. Looking forward to the reunion today.

Almost sold my first Spyderco to a friend a couple years after getting it, and something told me I would very much regret it later. Thankfully I heeded that feeling and kept my day one Tenacious. Still sees pocket time here and there.40mm wrote: ↑Fri Jun 29, 2018 8:06 amDecided to go back to the beginning. My first Spyderco was an Ambitious. On topic:
Have a Manix 2 "on the way", though sadly it is a gift, so I must relinquish possession of it fairly quickly. Obviously need to open her up and verify the quality is at gift-giving levels, right?
Re: Which spyderco is in the mail?
Used m4 pm2. Slowly expanding my pm2 collection, which i believe is an excellent model for both tough steels and high edge retention steels.
My main reason for the purchase was my decision not to get the new rex 45 model. I heard that hap40 doesn't perform as well as m4 even at +2rc, so I saved my money and decided to hunt for a pm2 in m4 instead.
The other reason was it was $120.

Yummm… Slysz Swayback. Probably out of my price range but what a design!

Awesome! I actually saw this at likely the same dealer yesterday and was going to tell you about it. Glad you found it. I was very tempted to pick one up too.
