I'm sorry Holland, that's a zdp model too from the color of the scales. I bet vg-10 might have fared a bit better. H1 definitely better.

You would really increase the tip strength by just taking the spine down to a wharnie style rounded tip. I think it might look pretty neat too :) Just needs some careful dremeling with the right bits. I have a few if you need.

I'm with you, I've detipped a couple of mules myself. I do have to say though a stock D'Fly has a fairly robust tip to start with. Wish you the best with it :) Share the result of the fix :D

Once school slows down I'll bust out the dremel and give it a shot, this just makes me even more excited for the SB model :D

Aww, that sucks Holland, but looking at it I see several ways you could go with the repair. Get some masking tape and play around with different ideas. You might come up with something really cool. My vote is to make a dfly tanto!! Hehe, seriously! I'm not much of a tanto fan, but I could actually see it looking kind of cool on the dragonfly. Whatever, get creative and enjoy the fix. :)

You didn't ruin your knife. It's a multi tool now. Just square the tip the rest of the way and you'll have yourself a screwdriver.

Reverse tanto ah la Michael Janich Delica/Endura?

I would just blend it in from the spine so it would be hardly noticeable.

Unless it was right next to an unaltered example.

What advantages does Superblue give to the DF-2?

generally super blue can take smaller edge angles without chipping (correct me if I'm wrong),
and who cares about advantages when it is 1 a sprint model 2 a new knife and 3 a new knife.
i guess some of us have the spydy bite (cough... Me cough...). :D

I'm with blerv, nothing wrong with an accidental tanto.

That's a drag. Couple of ideas already. Tanto? Is the end of the spine showing when closed? Grind the spine down? This could work I think. Just wonder how much to remove. Screwdriver tip? Something worth thinking about. Still a bummer but maybe you will have a useful modification. Pics please.

I think it's interesting that the knife adapted to become a better screwdriver.
