AFAIK, if you want both color and full serration, then you're pretty much out of luck in terms of current production knives. The only fully serrated FRN Enduras and Delicas being produced now are black. If you must have both, then your only real options are to either haunt eBay and the forums where selling and trading are allowed for one of the older ones, or to buy both a black serrated one and a PE one in the color of your choice, and swap handles.

Why not consider a Rescue3. Its a fully SE sheepfoot and comes cheap. I saw them available for $65

The best serration for the price is in the Salt series. H1 steel with serrations is supposed to test as the best performer.
Unless by "best for the price" you mean cheapest, then you can get a Byrd or Tenacious. Yourcornerstore has a Byrd Rescue 2 for ~$20.

Hey swingert. I own the pacific salt in se and it's a spectacular knife. Easy to maintain and takes a razor sharp edge on the sharpmaker. I use this for my edc a lot. In fact, I often carry it instead of my pm2. It does a great job at most everything. Part of me wanted not to like it because I'm kind of a plain edge snob, but it is simply an outstanding tool! One of my most carried knives!swigert wrote:How has it been for an Edc? Do you work in a field where a full aeration really comes in handy.
And since you asked about a field where serrations come in handy, I originally bought mine for a fishing knife, but find myself using it for much much more! We caught a mess of these this morning. Snappers have a pretty thick sternum you have to cut through when you clean em whole, and the pacific salt ripped through them like they weren't even there!

Knivesshipfree has the serrated Stretch available for a decent price:
http://www.knivesshipfree.com/spyderco/ ... rn-handle/
I happen to have one of these (after Evil D talked them up :) ), and you might want to take a look as well. I (and some others here) find the Stretch handle to be a bit more ergonomic than the Endura also, YMMV. Cheers, Paul

For a smaller knife, I really like the Cricket in SE. It's a remarkable utility knife.
Otherwise, the Pac Salt series really is the best of the FRN SE models. I think the SE RC hardness is in the 60+ range due to the work hardening?
Not a fan of the SE pattern on the Tenacious, I find the scallops too steep and cause more of a tearing action than the shallower pattern. Had the same issue with the SE ATR.
If you can find a Endura Wave SE, that has a very smooth SE pattern that works really well.

I agree with Donut on this one all the way. The H-1 blade steel has been proven to be the best blade steel to be used for fully serrated blades. And from what I was told Spyderco did extensive tests to prove that. And please don't get hung up on aesthetics and vanity because function is truly what you're going to want the most. Now I do agree that Spyderco has many stylish and jazzy looking folders and fixed blades and I would be a complete hypocrite if I said that I didn't like some of these. But if you are in the beginning stages of using fully serrated/Spyderedged blades then the H-1 Salt Series is truly the very best place to start. And like Deacon says later on you can cruise Ebay and other sites for the pretty/colored blades and folders.Donut wrote:The best serration for the price is in the Salt series. Question to people who EDC full serrate blades (I don't have one yet):
What can (or do) you not do with a fully serrate blade? whittle, trim nails, dice veggies, etc?
(excuse me for piggy-backing the thread, but I don't think it'll get hijacked, and this question is not worth a whole thread :rolleyes :)
