spyderco makes quite a few knives specifically for self defense and collaborates with many well known weapons and martial arts experts. sal must have some interest in the area of self defense and fighting arts right? i was wondering if sal ever trained in any arts? does sal ever carry for self defense?

Wasn't Sal in a movie with Kareem Abdul Jabbar and some other guy whose name escapes me?

Sal once thumbflicked a dinosaur in the jaw, it descendants are what we know as giraffes.

Haru: The blackness of my belt is like the inside of a coffin on a moonless night.
Joey: That's pretty black, Man.
Haru: It is a black art, and I, Haru, am the blackest of the black. Or rather the great white black art... Blackest... Master.

Try to jump him next time you see him, and then you'll know the truth! You better hope he's not trying out the prototype Spyder-saber that day!

IIRC Sal once mentioned on the forums that he had attended the riddle of steel. During some of the Amsterdam Meets, he demonstrated the Pkal on attendees (with a drone), he did that quite fluent.
