Saying Hello!

Hello everyone,

It appears I have been bitten by the little Spyder.

A couple weeks ago I bought a used Bushcraft UK. I was so impressed with it, that I bought a used NIB Manix 2. My first real folder in thirty years.

Then as luck would have it. Another gent wanted to trade a NIB Tuff and some cash for a knife I had for sale.

So suddely I found myself the owner of three Spyderco Knives.

Last night I ordered a Temperance 2 as I really am more of a fixed blade kind of guy. I posted over on BF looking for advice from folks that actually use the Temp 2. But after more than a week and over 350 views. all I have so far is a few comments and one picture of a really nice safe queen.

I thought I would wander on over here and see what it's like, and acquire any knowledge about the T2 that might be offered up.

Mine will be a user. So I will post up my thoughts when some time has passed. I plan on it as an EDC woods knife with some light BushCraft duties. Along with kitchen and other usual duties the go along with an EDC knife.

Anyway,,hi everyone and please be gentle, at first at least!

I love this knife! it has become my default bushcraft knife. If the T2 comes even close to impressing me this much, we will have a long and happy life together.

Welcome to the forum. The Temp 2 should be a nice knife, though I haven't had one yet.

Thanks everyone for the warm welcome,

Knivesinedc - Used NIB Manix = A NIB Manix that I acquired from a forum member. "Previously Owned" might have been a better way to say it.

Temperance 2 sould arrive later today, hope it lives up to it's reputation.

Hi Viking,

Welcome to our forum. Thanx also for the interest and support.

I designed the Temperance 2 for me. I also tried to refine the model (from the T1) based on the suggestions from owners and my own experience with the model. If you like fixed blades, I believe you will like it. Let us know your thoughts.

I can assure you from my own experience that you are not lost--you've found your home right here. Welcome! The Temperance 2 is indeed a superb knife. It's my favorite fixed-blade Spydie. I look forward to future posts from you.

Thanks Sal and Lost,

My T2 arrived, not quite what I had expected it to be. Not in a bad way just different than my perception. But I like it. I will start using it next week. Time will tell. The fit and finish is excellent. The point cuts like a light saber. And the thing peels hair off my arm like a straight razor. Overall a pretty impressive package.

Sal thanks for the design info. I was unaware of that.

Hi LostViking, welcome to the forum :) . How's the strength/width of the T2 tip compared to the Bushcraft? Please post some comparison pics if you get a chance!

I'm thinking to add a little big larger fixed blade to my camping/hiking setup sometime soon, and have been waffling between the T2, Bushcraft, and the Phil Wilson South Fork (but I am strongly leaning toward the third option)...
