I want to get the knifeworks exclusives. So are exclusives for using or are they specifically for collecting? Thanks in advance.

Collecting spydercos is a sin. Use em or flip em for 4x profit, no safe queens allowed.

There are no rules. I would imagine the collectors love users because they reduce the number of pristine specimens left for collecting and makes theirs more valuable. .

I think I read somewhere that Sal prefers it if they are used. I am not sure though.

I have never looked at it that way and plus if it is a knife I really like it is hard to leave it sitting in a box to not use.

I think that I will end up using them.

I want the PM2 in CTS-204p and the Manix XL in s90v, for sure.
But I definitely don't want them to sit in a drawer. I want them to sit in my pocket. Except for the 20 times a day I'd use them. :)

I think that it is probably a good idea.

The CTS-204p is definetly one of the knives I wish was available more.

If you want to use the knife, use it. If you want to keep in new condition (for sentimental reasons or to sell it later) then do not use it. A dealer exclusive knife doesn't truly increase value - upgraded steels usually do that.

I was lucky enough to score one of those green pm2's last week. Life is short. I'm using the **** out of mine! :)

I put my exclusives to use. But you should feel free to do with your knife as you please. It's your money.

It's got an edge for a reason. However, like jabba said, it's your knife :) .

I think the last one of these I saw on Ebay went for twice as much as the original price. ($400+)
just pulled it out of my work pants to snap a picture

The best thing to do is to buy one to use and one to collect.

I also have had this problem with the more coveted Spydercos in my collection. I offer this how-to for anyone else facing this problem:
- Whip out your Spyderco exclusive in question.
- Go find a brick.
- Now slash at said brick. I mean really slash it. I overheard that brick say something earlier about your mother, and I can tell you it wasn't very nice.
- Look at your Spyderco. Look at it! Your adulterated knife is no longer a safe queen. Your Spyderco is now a user. Congratulations!
- Break out the Spyderco Tri-Angle Sharpmaker and make sharp of your edge. Apologize and say soothing things to your edge as you make a few passes.
- Behold your user Spyderco, for it is now brought back to life--like a phoenix. Extra points if your Spyderco in question actually was a Spyderco Phoenix. That Phoenix is so beautiful, I understand why you were hesitant in the first place.
- Slip your Spyderco into your pocket. Not into its box and back in your safe! Your Pocket! Remember to make a habit of this from now on.
Hope this helps. Cheers.
