How to Dull SS Pocket Clip?

How would you go about dulling the shiny SS pocket clip that comes on a satin bladed Para2 or Native5?
I'm thinking about using a scotchbrite pad to rough it up a bit so it matches the luster of the blade and other parts.
Thoughts?

You can stone wash it or acid etch it to completely remove the shine. I prefer a dull non reflective clip, and you can use ferric chloride to turn it a flat gray color. Then normal wear with give it a cool worn natural stonewash finish.

What would make it closest to the finish of the S30V satin blade?

Probably just get a rough scotcgbrite pad and rub it up and down in one direction. The finish on the blade is from grinding it so you just need to put a scratch pattern in the clip that's similar.

Thanks so much.
Will post a pic when done...

Scotchbrite pad worked great! Just went from side to side so it matched the pattern of the blade when closed.
Para2 next to a stock Yojimbo 2. You can see it's not nearly as reflective as the original polish.

Beautiful finish and a great modification that anyone can do. I would repost this on the "show your mods" thread as well.

Also interested in the hot oil finish, it looks great! How durable is the finish?

If I'm not mistaken you just heat it up and dip it in oil.
