Nice to see you back in the game with a high end Spyderco Paul! I remember last year I was blown away by all your custom or high dollar knives from other brands and amazing guns! Then lately into the Bestech knives, now this baby! You're all over the place my friend :p

Thanx Rick :D
Man, just too many nice blades and, not near enough shekels- that's my problem, lol.
That being said, variety is truly the spice of life my friend ;)

I have a lot of knives that may be nicer overall but the Manix 2 LW is usually with me on our walks through the neighborhood

Nice pic, and makes me miss my Manix 2 LW... if it only had a bit more actual cutting edge, I certainly would have kept mine. Liked everything else (even the pinned construction (that many don´t like) did not bother me
Top three going by pocket-time (update March 24):
- EDC: Endura thin red line ffg combo edge (VG10); Wayne Goddard PE (4V), Endela SE (VG10)
-Mountains/outdoors: Pac.Salt 1 SE (H1), Salt 2 SE (LC200N), and also Wayne Goddard PE (4V)

No offense intended but I've never had an instance when I was cutting something with a Manix 2 where I said "darn...there's just not enough cutting edge on this knife to do the job". I know you're a big fan of the Stretch and it does have a little more edge length but the 8mm difference doesn't seem like a big deal to me. I know there are other features of the Stretch that help to make it your preferred knife but getting rid of your Manix 2 LW because there's not enough edge length seems kind of silly to me. We all have our preference though and I certainly respect yours.

It was actually more meant as a compliment to the Manix... ;)

"Silly" maybe, if my way of enjoying / collecting Spydies would be to "accumulate" more and more of them (which would be a totally fine approach either, don´t get me wrong!)

In my case though it happens to be like this (and the for me most enjoyable and interesting way or "quest"):
I don´t want to have more than ten Spydies total at each point in time (and in return really use all of them a lot), but I certainly want(ed) to try various designs / locks and so on.

That means I find out more and more in detail which features I value the most, that helps to be able to sell knives again and only keep those I really like the absolut most in every aspect.

Now like others value certain steels or handle materials, I tend to like a good edge to handle ratio. The Manix is 5 mm longer when closed than the Stretch 1 (and "bulkier"), but has 10 % less edge (8mm, for comparison the difference in edge length between PM2 and Para 2 is also only 11mm, not that much more) - which is noticable for me in some tasks, for example when doing food prep on the road.

So: Like it is and was with several Spydies I DO like, the Manix had to go after I enjoyed it for a while (and I am glad I did!), just because I liked other models slightly better and those became the real "forever" keepers... :)

After all that´s like many here do, isn´t it ? Enjoying certain models, but sell them eventually again, and only keep the few, well, "keepers"

Very, very nice scales, Pat!

Are they also available for the Military?
Thanks Alex (and Spydergirl 88). I like even more than I thought I would. They have a soft fabric feeling. Wasn't sure how I'd like the Terotuf material. It's great!

I don't see scales for the Military listed on their website. There are others (Shaman, Manix 2, Endura, Delica, etc) listed as coming soon. Maybe I can put the bug in his ear that he's getting requests for the Military.

Sorry Pat, nearly forgot you. :o

I don't see many aftermarket scales for the Military over all, and the one's I do see, I don't generally like anyhow. These one's however did catch my eye.

Many Thanks for the Link too! :)

Double Gayle Bradley Day. Here's to hoping the Nightstick is not the only new Gayle Bradley collaboration released this year. Looks cool and I'm sure the quality will be very high—just not my jam.
