Lol! Forest green will be my next ones - such nice scales. And I did wipe that blade on my jeans before the pic.anycal wrote: ↑Fri May 01, 2020 11:55 amI thought you may have polished it somehow, but I guess it's probably my patina dulling the finish.
By the way, you are the enabler of my TeroTuf. I like them so much that I have another set coming in, forest green.

You've definitely spearheaded this TerfoTuf movement around here Julia! I'm tempted to get a set myself, just not sure what model I would want to put them on just yet.

Re: What Spyderco is in your pocket today??
I've been using an Olight I3T EOS as my EDC and work light for a while now & I'm quite happy with it. Really compact and its lowest setting of 5 lumens is all I need for basic stuff like seeing in front of me when walking down an unlit path at night, making out pallet labels in a dark warehouse, or looking for the TV remote or loose change or whatever under the couch. I've never used the 180 lumen "turbo" mode except to annoy my neighbour's cat.
Battery life is good, too on the low setting (16 hours, which to me translates to about 4 to 6 months of intermittent use), especially for a AAA flashlight. I suggest using a Panasonic Eneloop rechargeable Ni-MH AAA, it will save you money in the long run. Another suggestion is to use the two-way clip to carry it "tip-up" if you're going to clip it to your front pants pocket... there is no lockout feature so if you accidentally turn it on, at least you can see it right away.
Re: What Spyderco is in your pocket today??
Nice! Thank you for the feedback and the tips. Honestly I tried those two because they're so compact and I run into the tiny women's pockets issue again. One is AAA and the other usb rechargeable, so thought I'd see which I prefer. Anyhow...sorry, end thread derail. If no one else does it, I'll start that light and spydie thread when mine arrive!zuludelta wrote: ↑Fri May 01, 2020 12:45 pmI've been using an Olight I3T EOS as my EDC and work light for a while now & I'm quite happy with it. Yeah I miss the hollow grind and swedge. Wish I could get that blade on the native 5 handle. Maybe one day they'll do a retro sprint or something.

If you like micarta, you'll like terotuf imo. I think I may even prefer it.

I didn't know they'd upgraded the steel to BD1N ! Most of the dealers here still have the older BD1 models
