Thanks for that man.attila wrote:The Seki City FRN backlocks (Endura/Delica/etc.) are all great knives, and are well worth purchasing if you value their features. The main feature that's a turnoff for me is the standard steel. While I believe VG-10 is a great steel for those who like it, I just don't like it nearly as much as the other steels I'm interested in. I do like the Delica platform, so when special editions come out, the Pakkawood Delica (in the pic) or some future Jazzlica sprint/exclusive for example, I plan to get them.FWR132 wrote:attila wrote:I took my Delica out for the last time today. It doesn't excite me anymore, so I'm gifting it to my brother as his first locking folding knife in decades. Currently, his only folder is a Svord Peasant, so this'll be a big change for him.
do you mind if i ask why the delica doesn't excite you anymore? I'm in the market for a Delica/Endura
The main reason for my loss of excitement is that I have so many others knives to enjoy, each special in some way, that a relatively boring Delica doesn't get enjoyed. Here is my Spyderco lineup at around the time I really lost interest (late last year):
Of those in the above picture, I recently sold the modified Breeden Rescue (black G10 in the pic) and put the green Delica in the mail yesterday.
With a collection like that, i can see why you'd lose excitement for a Delica!
I'm keen on trying that VG-10 steel, and i've got other knives in S30V, XHP etc.

Re: What Spyderco is in your pocket today??
Today was the Leafstorm and the VG10 Wharncliffe Delica. Hoping to supplement it with the Hap40 version.
Try to out love, out serve and out forgive.

What is the SAK with the X and crown? I'm hoping one day I'll find a SAK with better steel than victorinox...ThePeacent wrote:

Re: What Spyderco is in your pocket today??
It's a "SAK inspired" knife from the biggest Spanish knife manufacturer (Aitor) and one of the oldest. Its steel is similar to that of Victorinox, so don't expect much from it, also the tools are less precisely machined and the tolerances a bit higher than the Swiss brandTriggerThumb wrote:What is the SAK with the X and crown? maybe you'd like to check Ruike multitools for a "SAK" with better steel, Sandvik 12C27 in this case :spyder:
