how does the lil temp ride ?

hi,

I'm looking for a medium folder (3-3 1/2" blade) for EDC utility use. My current EDC is a relatively new Delica which I really like, but I want something a bit, uh (searching for word), sturdier. I like lightweight folders (such as the Delica, and the dragonfly I recently lost ) that I (and the people around me) don't notice too much in the pocket. But sometimes I need a heavier duty blade that I won't be worried as much about tip breakage or stress under torque (no I don't use it as a screwdriver, ..., very often). I looked at the native, which everyone seems to like, but, well, it has a bit of an aggressive look, which might scare the people I work around . The Lil Temperance drop point looks pretty solid, with a strong lock and thick blade, but it looks like quite a load. (Never seen one in person and probably won't have the opportunity anytime soon). So, for anyone who has one: how does it ride -- does it really weigh down the pocket, or feel very bulky ? thanks for your help.

I think it is a little thick.Did not try it in my pocket but it seemed to be as thick as a Chinook and I wouldn't want to carry one of those for EDC.This is just first impressions on both of these models.Someone that has them may look at them differant.

runningdog,
Welcome to the forum. I don't have a Lil' Temperence, but I do have a Ti Salsa for my EDC at work. It has a similar size blade and find carrying it around people to be very comfortable. It also weighs 99grams vs. 121grams for the LT. The salsa doesn't weigh my pocket down, but I don't know if that extra 22g would make a big difference. I can't compare the tips.

I find that the Lil Temperance has suprisingly little pocket presence despite its thickness and weight. Perhaps due to the clip design.

You might want to consider the new Blue Rescue. Very light, with probably the strongest tip in the Spyderco lineup.
