Manix 2 Mod - Mini Manix

#1

Post by Stugots-II »

Here are some pictures of my modified Manix 2. I changed the blade shape a bit to make it smaller and also shortened up the handles. Also I made some new Blue/Black G-10 handles. To lighten it up some more too, I skeletonized the liners. I still have a few more plans for it to include stone washing the blade and liners. Also I am trying to decide on a pocket clip if any. Heck maybe I will FFG it too, I just don't know. I have some other works in the process that may slow this one down.

I love it! Very nice job - it looks great, and like a little tank. I say it needs a clip, but I'm not you. Thanks for sharing.
- best wishes, Jazz.

Very nice work. What's great about the current grind is that you get the added strength of the thick spine but you can still dig that tip pretty far into something without hitting the saber portion (thick portion? not sure what to call it). I think Evild-D will love this one.

That said, I say FFG. :-p I love me an FFG. Also, definitely needs a clip. You could probably pull off a nice wire clip.
I'm happiest with Micarta and Tool Steel.

Top four in rotation: K390 + GCM PM2, ZCarta Shaman, Crucarta PM2, K390 + GCM Straight Spine Stretch.

Very nice. It looks a bit like a Techno and a Manix had a child.

Nice work! I really like it. Just add a wire-style pocket clip and it will be perfect. :)

Great job! Just wondering, how'd you texture the G10 like that?

That is a cool mod! I prefer smaller knives and a stout little cbbl like that would be nice to have! Vey nice work!

You can buy it like this.
Flash Batch request: Flat Iron Salt (CE w/ yellow FRN)
New knife request: Police 4 Salt!!!

Yes Dodge is right Minibear, I bought the handles with that texture but I milled them down to make them slimmer. I have an older shorter non hourglass spyderco clip that I am pondering but as many have stated I would kind of like a deep ride wire clip. I would just have to order one since I want to keep all I have currently on their respective knives.

Thanks all for the complements, by the responses you all should like the next few I am working on.

Looks nice. Is it big enough to give you a 4 finger grip?
