Opinions on next purchase please

Well it's time for yet another spydie addition! I already have a persistence, tenacious, endura 4, and pm2. The knives I'm looking at are the Millie, manix 2, sage, junior and yojimbo 2. Just taking some opinions on what you think would be a great new addition considering the ones I already have. I'm leaning heavy towards the Millie or manix 2. I know I'll probably hear a few ," just get em all replies " and believe me, I plan on owning them all eventually!

I usually try to buy a knife vastly different to the rest of my collection. That leaves you with a diverse and interesting collection. Also avoids an abundance of a certain knife (ie: 3.5"+ bladed G10 knives). The Para2 and Manix2 will compete for the same roles.

Variety is the spice of life. Try a hawkbill, reverse s, or serrations yet?

I'm personally not a fan or serrated blades but would make an exception for the civilian or harpy

Of those you mention, I'd get the Manix 2. Blerv is right that it will compete with the PM2, but you can maximize the differences with the new lightweight FRCP version. I just got the translucent blue one and like it a lot.

Or, maybe consider a Manix2 XL. You get a knife that's larger like the Millie but with the ball bearing lock of the Manx 2.
Working :spyder:'s: Dragonfly, Dragonfly 2 ZDP, Pacific Salt (reground flat by Brad S.), Green Delica FFG, Orange Endura FFG, Saver Salt, Spin Etched, Tasman Salt, Blue FRCP Manix 2

from your list i would say manix. or even the XL version. it's a different enough knife from what you already own.

I'd get the ones you're leaning towards. Different knives for different people. Of those two, I'd suggest the manix 2, since the Military is similar to the Endura and PM2.

You don't have deep pocket carry model. Try the Caly 3.5 in black G10 :)

I'd go larger or smaller than your current line up: Military or Michael Walker in ZDP/CF. I know the Walker isn't on your list, but it is a wonderful knife that packs a lot of cutting power in a very light, compact and stylish package.

Look at IG-88 post your collection picture and go over the whole pic a few times notice the one that is distinctly unique ?-vallotton.
My last but-not LAsT spyderco and my favourite so far it rates up there with my customs and although not in the niche your suggesting, its a **** fine knife .

Edit -spooky that was the 13th post on the 13th day of the year 2013 wooooo ... I'm losing it I think :D glad its not Friday .

I am Biased I just ordered the all black Manix 2. I had a chance to handle a regular satin finished model at a shop (which is rare for me) and I was very impressed. It caught me off guard I really wasn't expecting to like it that much but even compared to many knives that were more expensive it was my first choice. A perfect combination of size, handle ergonomics and blade shape.

One that still haunts me is the Superleaf, if I had been able to see the two together I don't know which I would have ordered, the compression lock and thicker blade of the Superleaf may have swayed me (not to mention that it has been DC'd) In the end I went for the S30V and I liked the stealthy looking black and the blade shape (in terms of the jimping). Did I make the right decision ... who the **** knows but I am sure I will enjoy the Manix 2.

Happy hunting, you can't go too far wrong with those choices and if you do ... just buy another one and see how that goes :)

I'm gonna go ahead and say it's time to Millie up. I was really impressed by a Digicam Military a few weeks ago, and have been looking at them ever since. My only gripe is the tip-down carry which is not what I'm used to. I guess it's not a big deal, though. I'm a fan of small knives, or "just big enough" knives, but the Military has just got such a good feel to it, and it's a **** of a lot of knife for the money. The Junior looks neat but is pretty expensive for what you get. The Manix has yet to do it for me, the choil doesn't feel quite right and I'm not the biggest fan of the lock.
I'm happiest with Micarta and Tool Steel.

Top four in rotation: K390 + GCM PM2, ZCarta Shaman, Crucarta PM2, K390 + GCM Straight Spine Stretch.

Military. Everyone needs one. You will have one eventually,
might as well get it now. It is as good as it gets.

^^^ That about sums it up for me. ^^^

I would say the Manix is a close second and I love the Manix more, but probably because I am not a lover of the PM2 (like everyone else).
