NOPE, sorry for the size I'm going Flat Byrd or whatever the old similar spydie was. Its the thickness vs size. Looks like a prototype/3d but I'll take many standard spydercos over that.
Although a a plain edge warnie/frn might sell me... hmmm $35.99? I'm in!

In a way, it looks like a squared off version of Ed Schempp's Balance. Doubt it would be as comfortable as the Balance for prolonged use but, then again, most folks probably wouldn't use it that way,

Judging by the size of the clip vs. the rest of the design, I would estimate the overall size to be roughly about 3x3 inches square, which isn't really very small for something the size of a square in your pocket. Combine the fact that it would carry diagonally in your pocket and you have an extremely wide brick in your pocket. That thing has to measure almost 4.5 inches from corner to corner diagonally. Noooooo thanks.

I agree, David. If it isn't 3x3, then the torx screws in that clip are probably T3 size. (Do they even make Torx drivers that small? The ISO standard allows for Torx sizes between T1 - T100, but I've never seen anything below a T6 in commercial sets...)Evil D wrote:Judging by the size of the clip vs. the rest of the design, I would estimate the overall size to be roughly about 3x3 inches square, which isn't really very small for something the size of a square in your pocket. My thought as well. That would take an entire pocket.Evil D wrote:Judging by the size of the clip vs. the rest of the design, I would estimate the overall size to be roughly about 3x3 inches square, which isn't really very small for something the size of a square in your pocket. Have a couple sets with T-5 drivers and I believe the clip screws on my early CRKT Van Hoy SnapLock are T-3. It came with it's own driver, with no size markings, but I know for certain that it's thinner than a T-5 driver and that the screws are really tiny. Hard to say whether the knife is fairly large, or the screws and clip are tiny, although the thickness of the blade as seen through the hole makes me think it's smallish. A link to the page that photo came from might be helpful.phillipsted wrote:I agree, David. If it isn't 3x3, then the torx screws in that clip are probably T3 size. It is an interesting concept. You know in the world today with some people
being anti-gun or anti-knife and the way that you get looks when you pull
out a knife in public to make a simple cut, something like this might have
a following and be of value.
It depends on the size though. If it was small enough thaty it could be
an "extra" knife for certain tasks, then it might be fine. As a main EDC, then
I still have way too many other choices. Still very interesting though.

Not so sure of that, although I'd agree it does not appear to be designed for someone who spends most of their day cutting. It seems to have a 50/50 choil and, if that's the case, would allow what appears to be a fairly secure 3 finger grip and a jimped thumb ramp. Without knowing the actual size, it's impossible to be sure, but I'd rate it as potentially more ergonomic than the Spydercard, Cricket, and a couple other Spyderco models.araneae wrote:Looks neat, doesn't look like much of a user in the ergo department.
