Hard to see, but my Mantra has a nice dark natural developed patina, esp the part near the Spyderhole.
Testing out my new folding cup from Sea to Summit.
Works great, no taste, feels stable when drinking.

Very cool!

Hereโ€™s a progress pic of one of the stalwart users of my knife accumulation, the late, great GB1:

Nice! The more I see of the GB 1&2, the more I think I could overlook the country of origin...

That's a classic to keep around! The GB1 has more appeal to me than the 2.

Thanks! Oh, you don't buy Taichung knives? I guess that makes it easier to narrow down your prospective knife choices. :)

It's a great knife for sure, so solid feeling with those thick, stout liners, slick action, and a really nice hollow grind and swedge on the blade.

Yes, I like the 50/50 choil on the GB1 better than the GB2 design too. As a user, I kind of think of it as a heavy duty Stretch. :)

(Btw, the 'local colour' props in the pic are a chunk of raw iron from an old volcanic blast field in Western Victoria, and a frond of Antarctic Tree Fern from the local forests, sitting on my benchstone lapping plates. The volcanic iron projectile is strongly magnetic.)

Scrubbed off this forced bubble pattern I was trying to do and decided to let a natural patina form.

This was the result of cutting onions, tomatoes, and baked chicken in one use. Onions and chicken add blue/gray, and tomatoes brown/black with spotting. K390 looks like stainless, compared to 52100.

haha pretty sweet, yeah 52100 is the most reactive steel Spyderco has ever used (to my knowledge).
