Manix vs. XL, & BBL ?s

#1

I note there is an extra pin above the bearing pivot on the Manix, while there is none(visible) on the larger model. What is it for, and is it simply buried under the scales on the XL?

If the poly cage around the bearing cracks or splits, does this cause the spring to go 'sproing', and lock-failure....or does it simply become sloppy? Either way, I know a trip to the Mother Ship would be needed.

Well as to question two, I found this one while surfing here earlier.

It appears that the knife remained locked.

Still curious about the first question, however. I got my hands on a Manix 2 FRN today, and had it been in black, rather than blue, it would've been exiting the store in my pocket. :p
