Greetings! After enjoying this great forum for a while, this is my first post. I'm a big Spyderco fan and just received a Sage 1. Everything I've read is certainly true. Excellent quality, solid lock up, great steel, and real comfortable in the pocket for EDC. Problem is that the Spyder hole is...well...kinda sharp. So much so that I've actually cut the tip of my thumb a little. Of course I've opened and closed it about 100+ times breaking it in.
Anyway, what's the best way to take the "edge" off the hole? I'm thinking some real fine emery cloth. I certainly don't want to do anything I'll regret or screw it up! Heck, I haven't even gotten to sharpen it yet! Have others felt this way too and done something about it, or just lived with it? Thanks in advance!
Hello and question regarding Sage 1
That's a great idea. My Sage 1 reconfigured my thumb nail and after a month, its still screwed up lol. This knife has been a little bugger for me. Just sent it out to get sharpened after I tried to reprofile it and found medium success. It's my one knife that has given me issues on with the Sharpmaker.Donut wrote:I have taken an Ultra Fine Sharpmaker stone and ran it around the corner to take a burr off. I don't think it is visible.
