Ti UKPK Giveaway if you Giveaway
Good Day everyone,
In celebration of my one year anniversary on these forums, a great year past and hopefully another upcoming great year, I’d like to do a New Year’s giveaway for a giveaway.
I’d like to giveaway a BNIB Titanium UK Penknife to a member of the Spyderco forums. In order to be eligible you must meet the following criteria:
1) You must want the knife to use. If you should get the knife, you must plan on using it, not selling or trading it within the next year. Should you wish to trade/sell it after a year's time, feel free, it is yours, but it better be used!
2) And here’s the kicker; the reason it’s a giveaway, giveaway: In order to be eligible you must promise, win or lose, to give a Spyderco to someone. In your post, you must promise to give a Spyderco knife to an individual, NOT to an organization like Goodwill, the Boy Scouts, a hunting club, etc. It must be to an individual, like a coworker, friend, relative, forum member, a scout or a random stranger (As long as it is not me, as there is no trading on these forums :) ). The intent is for you to have given your knife away before the end of January. This gives you time to either pick from your collection or purchase one to give and then give it away. It could be a Bug or a Carbon Fiber Klotzli or any price-point in between. New, used, no matter. Whatever floats your boat.
Your qualifying post must read something to the effect of :“I, (state your name or user name), promise to give a Spyderco knife to an individual”
Feel free to be as specific as you like.
An example would be “ I, James, promise to give a UKPK to my coworker next Thursday” or “I, vaisforlovers, promise to give a knife to my son.”
Past gifts do not count. Future ones do, even if you already planned on giving one away. An ineligible statement would be “I just gave a Delica to my brother yesterday”. However “I promise I’m giving a Delica to my brother tomorrow for his Birthday” is OK.
Only one qualifying post per member, but feel free to give away as many knives a you wish :) .
I picked the UKPK because it is one of my favorites and because most people living in most countries would be eligible. I realize some may not though. I do not wish to exclude anyone, so if you live in a place where the UKPK is illegal, I’ll ship you a Pingo instead. If that too is illegal, then I’ll send you a thank you note for giving a knife away. I do not know every country’s knife laws. If you tell me I can ship it to you, I will. I cannot control what customs does.
Remember, in order to be even eligible you must promise to give away a Spyderco, win or lose!
The winner will be picked at random on or about 16 January. I really hope this generates a lot of post/ Spyder-gifts!
Feel free to ask questions.
Happy New Year!
James

Hey James,
Great idea!
I plan on giving my son a knife in the next two weeks.
Someone ganked his Leaf storm that I gifted him a few months back.
He hasn't decided what knife he wants yet.
Again, very generous of you to give away a knife. Props!
Later,
Don
Btw... I promise.

Everyone's entitled to their own opinion, even if it is wrong.
Sounds awesome....I've given away a few Spydies recently...as well as sold....and I plan on giving a co-worker of mine a Delica or possibly even one of the newly discontinued UKPK's. He keeps losing his crappy knives so hopefully this will help. I've really wanted to get a hold of the Ti UKPK for myself, but I'm not really in a position to purchase much in the way of knives for a while. I promise to get that knife to him ASAP. Great idea....thanks!
My Spydies: Sharpmaker • Tasman Salt • Saver Salt • Ladybug Hawkbill Salt • Salt 1 • Blue/Gray Meerkat • Burgundy Meerkat • Manix2 Ltwt Translucent Blue • Manix2 Ltwt Blacked Out • Manix2 Backlock • Ladybug 1 Red • Blue UKPK • Tusk • Blue Lava • Dog Tag • Bug • Honeybee • Grasshopper • Stepped Ti Chaparral • McBee • AEB-L Urban

Thanks to everyone so far. So far, we have 1 brother, 1 son, 1 daughter, 2 coworkers and a friend getting Spyderco's. These were probably all preplanned, which is great! Keep them coming.

Giving knives away is contagious. I recently gave a friend a well used Gayle Bradley that had been sitting in a drawer for the better part of a year. A couple weeks later, I was at another friend's place and found out the friend I gave the GB to had given him a knife as well. I already have and carry a Ti UKPK, but would promise to give it to another friend should the availability arise. Very generous PIF.

I, Billy, plan to give a spyderco knife to my dad or brother-in-law or both!
Great giveaway idea! I would definitely put the Ti UKPK through its paces if I win.

As a fan of the UKPK, thank you for this inspiring and generous gesture, James.
I will be gifting a C28BK2 Dragonfly to my Son for his birthday in February. Scouting requires a safe, solid knife and I wouldn't choose any other brand for him to pocket.

Great idea. Ive been thinking of gifting a Spyderco to a friend who is a cheapskate and wont buy a good knife! Finally got him to buy a good LED light, so this would be a fitting way to get him started. Thinking of gifting him my G10 Delica.

Thanks again everyone. Please keep'em coming. I understand the 16th is a long away away, but that's the first time I'll be back state-side and have access to my knife to send it.

Good thing I was late ordering Christmas gifts for some people! I, Kyle, have ordered and will give a PE H1 Dragonfly to my brother's girlfriend. She does a lot of geology camping expeditions, so I thought a rust-proof, low maintenance knife would serve her well and be small and inconspicuous enough for EDC for her. Anyway, I gave my brother a FRCP Manix 2 for Christmas, so she needs a Spyderco as well.
Thanks for the giveaway opportunity and great idea to get others to pay it forward!
