So who got this one?

Looks like someone tried to snipe this one at the end. It went up 150 in the last 2 seconds.

We would rather be the knife in your pocket, because is "works" better, than the knife in your showcase, because it "looks" better.

It's certainly a good chunk of change but it's in line with the other ones that sold on eBay.

Wow, and technically it was damaged too?! I had no idea that this model fetched prices like that. I still won't sell mine though? ;)

Wasn't me. I already have one, and one's enough. :D FWIW, in spite of the numbering, I doubt anywhere near 500 of them were made, probably less than half that. So it's a fairly rare Spyderco, although that price is still a bit awe inspiring.

I'm looking for a Forums Military for many years, but it wasn't me ... I am not crazy enough to play in this price level.
But my congratulations to the unknown winner, maybe he got his holy grail now

Thats way more than I see the Klotzli sell in average... It seems for some this is the ultimate Spydie Grail... for $720 I would buy something else...

Wow, what's the point of paying that much for any particular production knife? What makes a ~$150 knife quintuple in price?

If I were to invest in a safe queen I'd rather buy gold... This thing only has "high" value to a very very limited audience, and I don't see it likely to get that investment back.

I applaud the seller for hitting the jackpot, but I would cringe if I knew how much profit was taken in fees  .

Honestly doesn't seem like a super high price as a PE Military of that vintage in that steel goes for 200+.

By my calculations, it's $65.70 in fees. That's an Stretch right there.

Money does not have the same value for everyone. For some at least, $720 is less than a day's pay and there's a point where the thrill of the chase has faded but the desire to own has not and a price which may seem excessive to others becomes nothing more than an expedient time saver. Considering these are quite a bit rarer than C22 Klotzli Walkers, C27 Jess Horns, and most, if not all, the other "grail" knives plus having the dual significance of being the first Forum model Spyderco produced for this forum or any other, I can understand someone wanting one bad enough to figure "it's only money",
