As pointed out above, it's C13 Progrip model although it looks like someone removed the Kraton from the pocket clip.

Yep, The holes in the clip was used so the Kraton could adhere better in molding.

Progrip for sure

It's the PROGRIP. I've had 2 or 3 of them in the past. It's way too big to be the SPUR model. Although the SPUR does look somewhat like it in style.

The Progrip is actually a nice blade in full PE. It's not big enough to be a full combo edge and I don't even know why they made them that way?

There is something nice about Spyders from that era. There seems like a lot of them showing up here lately

A quick google search: 1991-2007.
Was $62.97 at the time of discontinuation.

The GIN-1 steel marking narrows down that timeline and puts that particular knife somewhere in the 1995-1998 range. Prior to that, they were still GIN-1, but marked as G-2. After that, they switched to ATS-55.

The clip that's n it is basically useless without the Kraton and I doubt Spyderco would still have any available. However, if you want to carry it clipped, I'm pretty sure a regular old style 3 screw clip, which they are more likely to have available, would fit.

Deacon,

Thanks for the info. Believe it or not, they do have that clip! I spoke to Christy in Denver late yesterday and she has one on the way to me!

The Spyderco Warehouse must hold all kinds of rare and mysterious items.

I purchased one of those in downtown Boston in 1997-98 under the model name ProVenator. I gave it away not long after to a friend who was traveling abroad (back when knives could go on planes), but he said he lost it before he even reached the airport. The near the Downtown Crossing "T" station just off of Washington St., a nice place called Stoddards. Nice shop. I found another one about three years ago on the secondary market and could not pass it up. :) Nice find!

I was about to chime in on this. The age of this knife puts it in the period they were called Pro Venator. This is one of my favorite models especially in FRN.

Is this for real? That seems mighty stiff for this model knife?

Well, just because the seller wants that amount of cash doesn't mean the knife is "worth" it or somebody will actually pay that much :D
Seriously, unless some collector really desperately is looking for this particular model, I think it won't sell.

I know what you mean Dennis, still that is one **** of an opening res./BIN! That would make me feel great if it did sell, I only paid $42.50 for mine! Even with the new replacement clip thats on the way, I'm still under fifty bones for a nice vintage Spyderco!

Just to note the two knives being mentioned are not the same model.
