I just preordered/ordered a southard folder from CS and had a few questions.
1) I was wondering if anyone who had one has taken it apart and seen if the lockbar is carbidized or carberized?
2) Is the barring system like IKBS or KVT? I am wondering if the barrings are enclosed or free rolling?
3) How would you compare the smoothness of the barring system to lets say a Zero Tolerance -560/561 or a Kershaw Tilt (only knives I currently have on barring systems)

I'm on my phone so can't look, but there is another thread that answers most of those including pics and answers from Brad himself.

Just to summarize quickly for you:
1. Lock bar is hardened at the face to prevent wear. Brad said it works great and that we will be happy with it.
2. Bearings are encased.
3. I don't have mine yet, but others have stated it's the smoothest Spyderco they have handled.

basically what Jet stated. If you are wondering what they look like, look for ZT/Kershaws KVT system, its very similar.
