Updated Salt models?
Any chance we could see some updated Salt folders in the near future?

Not sure what you mean by "updated". IMHO, small subtle changes, like the new hourglass style clips and screw pivots, are more likely than major ones. AFAIK, full flat grinds are still not feasible for H-1 in a production environment and I can't see Spyderco making changes that would require more metal parts. To me, that doesn't leave much in the way of major updates, but with Spyderco's penchant for innovation, one never can tell.

Yeah Blerv I couldn't agree more>> I"ve been wanting to see the return of the Temperance 1 fixed blade model in H-1 and I would like to see it available in SE & PE both. That would truly make my year if it happened. A full sized C-54 Calypso is also what I would like to see in H-1 Salt Series.Blerv wrote:I would rather see sprints of Salted models. A Calypso Jr or Jess Horn LW for example. Hollow grind is just dandy for me :) .
It's a shame that the H-1 Dyad couldn't work out due to expensive production costs. That would have been a really nice all purpose blade for a bug out bag.

More like a new generation of Salts...something like how they updated/changed the Delica3 to Delica4, etc...
Sorry I wasn't more clear.....I would still love to see a Tasman Salt made like the byrd hawkbill with the forward finger choil etc....

Sounds like you're talking more about whole new models. Adding a finger choil isn't a simple modification... the whole knife needs to be re-designed. I'm glad the Tasman doesn't have choil, it would totally change the knife.BDNX wrote:Sorry I wasn't more clear.....I would still love to see a Tasman Salt made like the byrd hawkbill with the forward finger choil etc....
The H-1 Catcherman may not be "Affordable" as you put it >> but then again I don't know what price range you're talking about. But I can tell you that the money I paid for my H-1, Green handled Catcherman is some of the best knife money I ever spent. It works so well with my 2 other Catchermans.dd61999 wrote:I would love to see a small fix blade, and a affordable filet knife
A wharnecliff blade design would be nice to
I had intended to get the H-1 Catcherman as a collector piece to trade later. But I liked it so much that I just started using it. It's a fabulous knife and works like a dream. I can say this>> if you can still find one of the H-1 Catchermans you won't regret getting one.

What I'd really like to see is more pointy H1 models suitable for EDC, rather than strictly for marine use.
I understand and agree with the existing Salts having those blunt tips, as those are better for maritime/underwater applications. But for many of us who seldom visit the sea, it would be great to have the low maintenance of H1, in a more urban/ higher performance model.
A sprint of Endura and Delica 3's in H1 would be awesome, and I love the suggestion of an H1 Jess Horn sprint. And of course if the dies for the Native Chief are collecting dust.... :D

I think the reason it didnt sell is due to the price and is only available through spyderco.com
This is a worker knife....Outdorsmans love fillet knives, not only for fishing, but more and more are seeing the benefit for hunting as well. But, over $100 for a frn knife, at that price point I think the market is limited
Make a standard run of h1 catcherman for a price point of what you can find a discounted endura for and a few ads in field and stream magazine. I am willing to bet it would be a hit. What fisherman would not love a rust free fillet knife
