An idea for spyderco

Hey forum,

I had yet another idea, an innovation for the backlock that probably wouldn't work but I thought I'd post it. why not.

Anyway, I was noticing up and down blade play on my endura 4, (a lock back for knife noobs) My idea was to have inserts for the lock face of the lockback. Undersize the bar, then have a screw attached to a plate. And have many different plates available so if you get blade play you can remove it, and replace it with another. Pic below of my idea.

Please pardon my bad drawing skills.

There is a slight amount of blade play inherent to the lockback design. Engineering issues aside, a business would have a rough time providing tech support for something like this and it would add cost to the product. Cool idea on paper, but a far more difficult concept in real world application.

Yes, I agree. Just some ideas. Thanks for looking!

The drawing is great, don't worry. Neat made and self explanatory. However, I don't think it would solve the bladeplay issue.

I reckon a teflon insert on the lockbar to go on the tang face would be a better innovation- would be smoooooth
