Knife suggestion

I'll probably get heat for this with many saying I'm a wimp. I don't really care.

The Paramilitary 2 is the best knife I have ever had. The instant I lose it, may it never occur, I will replace it immediately. However what I really really want, if it is possible is a Delica or an Ambitious sized Paramilitary. That is what I would seriously like. I would gladly pay $100 for such a knife.

Just a thought.

Have you looked at the Caly 3 or Caly 3.5 ?

The Sage series is another good bet for that size.

You might consider the original Paramilitary, it's about 1/2 inch or so shorter in the blade and a tiny bit shorter in the handle.

I have been wanting a smaller knife with a compression lock. The S is about the perfect size and everything, but the skeletonized blade makes me think it won't make a good user. I remember Sal hinting at a Solid blade S, and that sounds like a dream come true to me.

I hope he wasn't talking about the Nishjin R and slipped up on the name.

It's pretty interesting on 4 Sages, that Spyderco has honored many knife makers and companies, but hasn't made a lock tribute to one of their own locks.

Yeah, sometimes the unfairness of it all sort of rankles. The guys who already have the luxury of EDCing a 3.5 inch knife ALSO get their pick of probably a half dozen sprint versions of the PM2 every year. And those of us who just want a compression lock under 3" are left out in the cold.

I know it's not the same but the P'Kal is 3" with a CBBL which makes for a small package with a very stout lock. If not for the mindset behind it I would probably EDC one.

Frankly, "stout" isn't even what I like about the comp lock; I don't think any of my uses would cause any properly-constructed lock mechanism to fail. I like the fact that one can disengage it without having a digit in the path of the closing blade.
