When should I switch to dance blades?

Hi everyone,
I have decided dance looks more fun than freestyle. Do I need to switchblades ASAP to learn the basic dances, or can I let my current blade wear out?
Best regards

It's all about freestyle. Dancing to loud music in abandoned warehouses is liberating. /kevinbacon

Well, if you are using switchblades, you should definitely be choreographing a selection from "West Side Story."

Henrik,
Heavy tape on the blade or grinding the edge of a butterfly knife against a stone or brick till it's fairly dull may help - if you're using a fairly inexpensive model (you are talking about butterfly/balisong knives right?) it's worth having one with a good edge and one to practice with - a lot. I have gotten some nasty nicks trying new things with a model I wasn't used to.
