To my fellow Spyderbros in Europe,

I'll be in Czech Rep, the UK and Portugal on a three-week assignment. Speaking about the UK, are there any retail outlets specialising in Swedish Mora knives and Finnish Puukkos near London? Appreciate the feedback!

Hi Sam,
Going to europe ehhh, what about Denmark? You could do a pice on the little mermaid and how she´s going to get Lance Armstrong to join CSC-Tiscali.....You could bunk up at our place and, **** I´ll even pay for a tour on danish beer.
The Mora and Puukko knife situation in London....I have no idea, but if you are in to the nordic knife-types I could send you a sample or two....

Sam,
It's not on your current route I see, but if you by any chance get to make it to Amsterdam, make sure to check out 'The Old Man' knifestore. Even Sal visited that once I've heard.
Have fun in Europe!

Enjoy your tour, Samo. Europe has many places to be seen, you'll see. You could also consider Romania, it's a rather interesting country

Hope you get a chance to see Prague. I'm sure they'll be busy cleaning up from all those floods but it's still the most beautiful city in the world and where I learned about Spydercos too! Look for a knife shop on Narodni Trida (National Blvd.) downtown. If you walk from the Mustek end of Wenceslas Square towards the National Theater, the knife shop will be on your right. If you get to the Tesco store (which is on the other side of the street) you've gone too far.

Folks,

After 22 hours of flight, I'm finally at a town called Brno, about two hours away from Prague. Arrived at Zurich and found heaps of Swiss Army stuff... Nearly lost my Spydercard to the security people at Prague.. You can't fool these guys. Now, the one thing that really sinks me, is having to loose my luggage in Zurich. I'm virtually naked with all the gear stranded there..
There are plenty of outdoor shops here in Brno with good brands. Anyway thanks for the directions MN Blades! Will check out the shops that you've mentioned. Yeah, the floods here are pretty bad. Brno seems alright.. Denmark? Oh, well, sorry for giving you the miss my Euro bros.. Won't have the time in this busy schedule to do so.. Maybe someo other time.. I'll take the offer! Well, will updated you guys about my situation.

If you're a wine drinker, look for the new wine, which I believe should be out now, called "burcak" (boor-chaak). If it's out now, they'll be selling it in the wine bars, or "vinarnas." The Moravians are great wine producers and drinkers and cutting up some cheese and salami to go with the burcak will give you an opportunity to show off your Spydercos! :-)

Thanks for the info dude! Yeah, I did come across some "strange brew" being sold at the roadside. If I'm not mistaken, its burchak.. The wine over here are really fantastic! And speaking of Spydercos, I don't think I have a chance to use any at the moment because my baggage was lost in transit from Zurich to Prague.. Hanging on by the tooth as the day counts to my departure to the United Kingdom and Portugal. I managed to find a couple of toolshops here at Brno. They stock plenty of Swiss Army Knives.. Haven't seen any Spydercos so far.. Well, I'll keep you folks updated when I arrive at Prague for a night's stay.. See ya!

Knife shops in Prague:
* There's a nice shop at the exit of the Florenc metro stop (the intersection of the red and yellow lines). They carry Spydies.

* "HQH" on Konìvovì street.

* "Trapper" near the Palmovka recreational park.

* "Nozírství Platýz" (the one nmblade mentioned, near Tesco on Národní Trída street).

* "Zbrane a Palivo" on the Old Town Square.

* And finally, there is a knife shop on a small street connecting the Main Railway Station with Wenceslas Place. It was here I found a NIB "Q" two years ago.

Good luck with your knife hunting Samo and finding your luggage!

Now this was a few months back but I walked into Starbucks and a guy comes up to me and asks, "is that a Chinook in your pocket?" Now nobody notices my Chinook or my Recon. I sat down and met Samo and friend. We chatted and then he showed me his collection.

Samo, when are we doing something here in KL?

Gary.

If I were a gambling man, I'd bet that that shop is gone after the recent floods. :-( A buddy of mine lives 200 yards from that shop and that whole neighborhood was badly damaged, with at least one building falling down.

Hi DePaul,

Thanks for the excellent field report. Haven't been able to locate a single decent knife when I combed downtown Prague this afternoon.. Maybe its luck because I'd just recovered my baggage from the airport. I'm really glad to be reunited back with my Military and the Endura.. Not to mention the close call with my Spydercard..
Well, the flood's gone and some damages are still visible till today. Came across a street baazar with a couple of stores who sells knives.. Well, that much I can say because I still haven't found anything interesting..
I'll be off to England tommorrow (27/8) where I'm expected to crash at a small town called Banbury which is the Formula One racing village.. Hope to catch the rail to London and see some real knives.. Well, if there's any.. So, catch you guys later!
