Hey guys,
Dont get me wrong I LOVE my Manix 2, one of the best knives on the market in my honest opinion, and I own several. However, one gripe i've always had is the weight. The knife is a bit on the heavy side. Well I have fixed that problem! Last week, I ordered a special edition Manix 2(wont get into details, because some people will kill me if they found out I took it apart and switched some things :D ), and recieved it later that week. Today I was messing around with it comparing it to my other Manix 2, when I got an idea. Well a few minutes later I had both knives sitting in piles on my desk, switched some stuff around, and threw the two knives back together. Now I have a Manix 2 with milled out steel liners, a FFG S30V blade, and black G10 scales. I'm not sure if spyderco has had a sprint run of something like this before(they probably have), but now I have my own special edition, special edition Manix 2, which fits my criteria perfectly. :cool:

I thought the liners were already skeletonized?

I just handled one of the see-through blue handled ones today and they're VERY light.

Nope they arnt normally.

I like knives to be heavier, not lighter...so if anything I would take it apart and put the better steel on the solid liners. Be a way better knife :D

Oh I thought you were talking about the Bento Box CPM-M4 Exclusive or S90v/CF sprint. :)

My idea of the perfect knife would be the Lightweight with something like M390. Ringing at around $100 would be one "sick blade" as our popular internet gear reviewer might say.

I'm no SOG guy(you know, cheap, light knives), but the Manix 2 has the wrong weight distribution. I like it when a knife is blade heavy.

Ha Ha no I wasn't implying that at all...just that I EDC a GB and have no problems with the weight at all, so to make the Manix2 better, I would do the opposite of what you did and take the sprint steel and match it to the solid liners and use that as my knife.

And I like the M2 weight, I find that it seats it back ino my hand even more. But I know that many wish it was lighter and like the sprints better because if that.

The standard hollow-ground Manix2 blade is quite a bit heftier than the FFG ones.

So what color is the heavy one with the 154cm blade? Now I'm thinking of putting my solid liners in my M4 version.
