Danish Spyderco model

#1

Post by Nordic »

When will the new danish Spyderco model be ready for sale ?

In Denmark we have some very strict knife-laws, so we are waiting for the new Spyderco model.

When can I walk down to the shop in Denmark and buy it ?

This thread seems to be the central location for all that info...

Sjovt nok at møde dig her. Skriver normalt på Nordisk Våbenforum.

Bruger normalt ikke amerikanske forums, men har denne weekend gjort en undtagelse.

Hi Nordic,

Welcome to the Spyderco forum.

We're making the injection molding tooling now.

Though I haven't been informed as such, I suspect I'll see a production prototype at the Blade show next month. If the sample is acceptable, probably 2 -3 months 'till they're available. I don't know about stores in Denmark yet. That might take a while. We haven't been able to sell knives in Denmark for many years and our distribution there is weak.

Grejs nags me regularly. ;)

Twohanded folder

Why not make a twohanded folder with at backlock.

In Denmark such a knife will be legal in your own house, work, fishing and hunting.

Native or Delica build with one very small hole would be fine.

Pingo is a fine knife, but I miss a twohanded Spyderco with liner or backlock :)

I know this is not what you are looking for (this is a slipjoint) but the grasshopper actually has a pretty nice grip with a small lanyard and a cutting edge almost the same as a dfly.
From what I understand this should be legal for edc outside of the house? Its not the greatest steel by any means but can be easily sharpened and I have not had corrosion problems so far.
Just a thought, I sure can't open this one with one hand!

Hi Sal.

So! Are you prepared to throw any info on the SpyDK project? Pictures, drawings, words or dates?

In Denmark it is considered dead. Would be exiting to give new hope for the Danes.

Hi Mikael,

Not dead. One of the many we're working on. I'll see if I can get a pic. Design is finished. First proto sample was made and we're waiting on production.

Such a knife can also sell in Germany. They have "Trageverbot". That means they must not carry onehanded knifes on the streets, bars, concerts ect ect

Yes, we Germans could also use some law conform SpyDK...

More UKPK variants would help too... (Our law is not as strict as the danish law)

My apologies for the delay, I've been out of the office for military conferences for the past two weeks, but here are the images of the Spy-DK as promised by Sal. :)
