Thoughts on ParaMilitary 2 Black Blade & Handle

#1

Post by MrGlockJock25 »

I was considering getting an all Black Para Military 2 once I could find one in stock. How does the finish hold up? Is it as smooth as the satin version. And is the S35v version worth the extra money? Does anybody know where these are in stock also. Should I go with all black, satin, or S35v version.

I have a black bladed-digi-cam inbound... I'll let you know how it holds up after I've had it for a while.

I have the all-black version and it holds up very well during normal usage. The one thing that did give me trouble was a kydex neck sheath - when I used it for a day, it rubbed the black finish off the top of the spine after a couple of deployments. Not surprising, but disappointing.

I had one for about 6 months or so, named it Darkside, traded it in on a new Military after i got my 20CP Para 2. Great knife. The DLC does effect the smoothness of the action, but i wouldn't say it's not smooth...it just felt very different from the 20CP. One thing for sure was the detent was MUCH stronger on the DLC knife, but i don't know if that's just manufacturing variances or if the DLC played a part in that. I used mine for 99% cutting down cardboard and never got a scratch from that, though i did get some very faint scratches from change in my pocket. I'd say for what i used it for it held up exceptionally well considering cardboard will easily scratch a satin blade.

The only way I've been able to scratch the DLC coating on my Para 2 is through sharpening.

I never cared for coated blades so I would go with the satin or s35vn model.

I have never seen a coated blade that I liked.
