New C95?

#1

Post by jossta »

I remember hearing that there were tentative plans for a new C95 with Native 5 lock improvements.

Anyone know if there's still a chance for this or is it dead now that we have the Manix XL?

I love the C95 but have not heard the rumor of a new rendition with improvements.

It seems to me going lockback would make the Manix2 line confusing. The, "Is ____ stronger?" debates would rage harder than they do already.

I would love to see it on another rendition of the Chinook though.

I remember that Sal mentioned about this, but it was a while ago.
I would love to see this knife with black G10 and nice new Carpenter steel.

I can't say too much. Don't want to get in too much trouble ;)

I saw an engineering model of a new C95 and I heard some talk about a Chinook as well.

A C95 with 4mm thick blade and 14mm hole will be great. Question for me is whether the blade thickness goes the same way as the C95G.

Maybe it's the photo, the original C95 looks a lot more sleeker that the C95G.

This would be Eric's domain right? Eric, can we get a epic steel to go with the knife itself which is a legend among us old time spyderco users. Something very tough, very wear resistant please. New ground in the cutlery world would really get everybodies attention in a huge way. 4V, Zwear, Cruwear, A11 class, even 52100,W2, for the non stainless types. For the stainless steels I believe you would be well ahead of me there. About the only one that really gets me wound up is my Phil Wilson S110V custom ran full hardness. I consider S110V tougher than S90V.

Joe

Excellent news. I hope that the knife will have 4 mm blade. Steelwise, I trust Eric and Sal.
