Carried my Victorinox SwissTool for about 3 years before an ex lost it.

Carried a Sportsman from the time I was 6 to about 13 when a Camp Counselor lost it, too.

Hmm, noticing a trend...

After two years of dedicated carry of my serrated Q model (who mysteriously vanished from my pocket one day), I went through a knifeless period of mourning before picking up my blue, SE Delica 3, which I EDC'd every day for seven years. There may have been a scattered day here or there during that time that I didn't carry it, but there were no other knives in my life at that time except the one.

When that monogamous relationship ended because of a fling with a Caly 3, I started down a long, dark road of commitment issues and torrid affairs with a bevy of bladed broads. No matter which I was with, I always had my eyes on another, the Spyderco catalog always near at hand as I slowly perused the pages and ogled the fold out pictures. At night, while my Spydies quietly lay in the drawer beside me, I sat bathed in the dim glow of the computer screen, downloading high res pictures of sprint runs and limited production models, briefly casting a glance over my shoulder as I clicked "play" on the youtube video reviews.

No longer satisfied, I became a deviant: going "clipless"; switching from my normal one to having two on me at the same time (and when that wasn't enough, I dabbled with doing three at once!); trying tip down; and even -dare I admit it?- I got into Mules! Oh the humanity! I now have a whole drawer-full of sensuous Spydies vying to get in my pants every day, yet no matter how many of them get in there, I'm never satisfied. There's always a new, curvy model that catches my eye from across the way that I can't wait to get my hands on to see how it feels...

Gigilo :p I too have sold myself and become infatuated with the seemingly endless curves. Always seeking the perfect opening. It is a dreaded disease. :spyder: My old Delica which fulfilled me for a number of years has become a outcast, the passion for her being replaced with newer younger models. I have become ensnared, caught up in the web, the endless search for the perfect frame. Oh for shame :(

For the past 6 or 7 years my EDC seems to change almost daily. I haven't counted days but I have had the Sage4 in my pocket since I got it on March 12. So today is the 23rd day. I just counted. :) That's over 3 weeks. AFAIK that's the longest but others I love like the GB, Sage1 or Chaparral may have a record similar or longer. That's what it's been like since I started getting better quality knives frairly often for the past few years. Prior to that I carried knives for a few years before replacing. It took replacement because I seldom had more than one EDC pocket knife at a time. When one got old or worn I'd buy another $10 or $20 knife. Since I finally spent $60 on a knife one day I've always had enough knives to change up frequently which has given me a good idea of what I'd like if I only had one or two knives now. I am quickly winding down to a "set" of knives that will be my "five and only" EDC knives.

For the moment I have no intentions of leaving home without the Sage4. Added to the Sage4 may be the Chaparral though. Oh yeah, the Jester but I don't consider that when I think of EDC. That's wierd since it's the only one I truely carry every day.

Before I discovered Spyderco, I carried a Victorinox Alox Pioneer daily for more than 10 years.

It is still doing kitchen duty nowadays, mostly as a can opener and eggshell piercer.

It is, and I can totally relate!

For me, it was my first, a SS Hunter. So innovative. The clip, the hole! Loved the blade shape. Amazing knife. Carried it for a year and a half until it decided to go swimming in the Gulf of Mexico (stainless knives can't swim:eek :) Gypsied around a bit until the first Bob T which rode in my pocket for 3ish years. Even kinda stopped paying attention to the new releases until one day I logged back in.... "oh my!" ;) Another period of wandering until the GB shipped. I got one (okay, two) of the first runs (one with logo, one without, so they aren't EXACTLY the same knife ;) ) It's been in my pocket ever since. It's my favorite knife, ever!

CRKT M16-01Z... or an el cheapo folding box knife. Carried both for a couple years... then I lost the M16 and that begun my endless search for a knife that was perfect for me to carry. Haven't found anything truly great now... I've been EDCing a CRKT M21-02G, and I really like that knife. But now I'm looking for a Spyderco with a quality steel to become my new EDC.

Carried the Solo SO-01 in my signature line for almost two years straight - on the weekdays. Carried bigger blades for weekend chores and camping. The Solo is purely a "gentleman's knife". Not to say I'm always a gentleman...

Before :spyder: time I carried SAK Traveler for 8-9 years.
I EDC my C83 Persian for more than five years. I EDCed Caly3 along with Persian for about four years, which was replaces with Caly3.5, when they came out.

This is the horrible story. I even couldn't imagine that you would be able to fall that low. On the positive side I can see that you already came to realization of reality, so there is a chance for the light at the end of tunnel.

Agree, knife forums are bad influence, especially this one.
I never spent that much money in my life. I could buy computer once every 3-4 years and this was it. Now I even do not have money for computer, all money went to Golden.

I was saving for a nice rifle before I found the forums, hehehe. Fat chance of getting a rifle now with all the new releases and interesting steels.

I'm picky and only carry the good stuff

I wish I was there to give you a "HIGH FIVE" on that one Brother. The most regretful trade I ever made was when I traded both of my 440V Military models away ( SE & PE) :( I truly didn't know what I had at the time. I would still love to locate a 440V Spyderedged Mili if there is still one to be had.

Probably my longest tenured Spyders that I've carried EDC are a toss up between my C-44 big Dyad, my recently lost/stolen G-10 Harpy, or my ZDP-189 Caly Jr. Those are the 3 I carried for the longest periods of time.

Currently I'm EDCing a C-60 Massad Ayoob G-10 model and I love it so much that I really don't see myself replacing it anytime soon. It would have to be a new Sprint run of the C-44 Dyad or maybe the reintroduction of the C-54 big Calypso to make the Ayoob a second fiddle position in my EDC rotation.

I think the Ayoob is going to be in my front pocket for the foreseeable future and probably a year or 2 out at the very least. That C-60 is an awesome folder!!
