Idea for Sal

#1

Post by hawaiihunter »

I just came up with this bizzare idea of having a knife with a sharpener inside where when you squeeze the blade when closed then it grinds up and down at a certain angle, for fast sharpening at a demanding job. I do not know if this is possible whether it would work, but i just wanted to shoot this idea out.

Not a horrible idea i guess, but i'd rather see a FRN handled knife with a small pull out ceramic rod in the handle. If you used that knife in the link enough to get it dull, would you really sit there opening and closing it over and over and over to sharpen it again? Seems a little silly lol.

That happens to me all the time. I have a great idea, google it, and it already exists.

Hi Hunter,

Many ideas have been thought of before. We bump into that often.

For sharpening, try this; We "get" to sharpen our knives rather than "have to" sharpen our knives. We get the experience of developing a difficult, useful and demanding skill.

For me, it's more like I get to make my knives dull while trying to sharpen them, but I still keep trying :D . I've found the best way to get a sharp knife is to buy a new one  . I have that skill perfected...

Don't worry man, I've had a hundred "million dollar ideas" that were a day late. You would have thought by now I would have at least had one great idea that hasn't been taken yet, but oh well.

Dont get me wrong, I love sharpening, its a breeze with the sharpmaker, my idea also seems gimmicky I mean that would get old constantly closing the blade and what if you got a chip?
