Valloton Sub-Hilt Folder or C139GP?

I am growing unhealthily obsessed with the Valloton Sub-Hilt Folder; this large--and clearly bulky--knife just appears to reek of quality. And yet the Breeden Rescue C139GP is an exciting choice, as well.... Moronic question (considering how different they are in most every aspect): which would you own, if you could have only one, because of threats of violence from the lady who cooks your dinner?

I do only own one of those ... the Vallotton.

Concise and to the point--which you must prefer. Thanks for the straight response.

I have both but if I were to choose one it would be the vallotton... The breeden is just a standard pillar design with a great looking blade... Plus vallotton steel is better

I too own both but if I had to choose it would be the Vallotton. I just like everything about the knife.

Thank you for the reassuring certitude, Dan. Three strong responses from knowledgeable owners seal this deal: order placed, meat cleaver-wielding dame and all!

I really like the Vallotton but probably wouldn't buy it. I like pretty much everything about it though, the polished G10, the bolsters, LOVE the shape of the blade, but something about the knife...i dunno i just wouldn't buy it and probably wouldn't carry it. Not sure what it is. Of the two though, if i had to buy one or the other it would definitely be the Vallotton.

The Vallotton is certainly the looker. The rescue probably has a better blade for most tasks and a handle you can white knuckle.

I would buy whatever you like more. Then get the other for the next holiday gift (anniversary, birthday, President's Day, etc :p ).

another nod for the vallotton, it's a very unique design. everything from the scary cool blade, smooth g10, and bolsters scream quality.

The vallotton is just an amazing knife. In hand it has heft but doesn't feel heavy. The fit and finish is sleek and smooth. It's not great at a lot of things, but no matter what you will always look at it in your hand and think, 'yeah. that is one pretty knife'.

The Vallotton was my favorite new Spydie design of 2011. I don't EDC it (it's hard to dethrone my Caly 3.5), but it's fantastic. The Breeden Rescue is a unique design, but the Vallotton is rock solid and has a timeless style.

I really like both of them!
