Ayoob-serrated

Post by axis27 »

Have any of you guys noticed the Massad Ayoob collaboration going for about 60 bucks or so?? Its only the serrated version. I was wondering if Spyderco at one time, discounted these or something?

I saw that a few weeks ago and finally decided to pick one up, but it seems to be gone from the site. Anyone know any different?

Well, I bought one off of Ebay, most people up there still have them around 60 on a buy it now. Thats what I did, I was just making sure the low price was something Spyderco instigated, making sure it wasn't a knockoff. THanks.

I REALLY can't understand why Spyderco would discontinue production/sales of the (serrated) Massad Ayoob folder, as it's MY favorite Spydie (along with my PE Chinook!), and is so much different than the rest of the Spydie herd.

...I just don't understand...

Mr. Ayoob really knows a thing or two about knives and the <img src="spyder.gif" width=15 height=15 align=middle border=0> model is the living proof. Though I think that the materials are a generation behind. It should feature at least G10 scales.

I would LOVE to have a (Massad) Ayoob folder with G-10 scales, and dual stainless liners (like the Chinook).

I'd also LOVE to have a left-handed Chinook...(I CAN dream, can't I?...).

P.S. This is in addition to the regular Ayoob, not a replacement, light and thin has its place too.

glockman99, the Chinook revision prototype I saw at the Blade Show in June was set up to have all four clip configurations.
