Just a short post to mention the outstanding service that the service and warranty department provided to me. I sent back an old ProVenator (now called a Pro-Grip, I think) and a Rookie. The ProVenator was my daily carry knife since the late '80s and hasn't been sharpened in a long, long time. The rubber on the clip wore out about 5 or 6 years ago, and I reshaped the clip into a curve so I could still use it. The Rookie has had it's tip snapped off twice. I reshaped it the first time to a more blunt profile, but I broke it off again anyway. Then the Rookie's clip caught on something and I broke it off too rendering the knife to deep pocket carry only. Needless to say that these knives were not in any way pampered tools, but I carry them to use, not for show.
The knives returned to me yesterday and I couldn't be happier! My Rookie has a new clip and a NEW BLADE!!! WOW!!! The ProVenator is sporting a new, rubber-covered clip with a blade sharp enough to shave with. Outstanding support any way you look at it. The $10 check that I sent in with the knives does not even come close to paying for what they did for me.
Thanks again guys.

Howdy Rick! Welcome to <img src="spyder.gif" width=15 height=15 align=middle border=0>Land! <img src="smile.gif" width=15 height=15 align=middle border=0>
You are merely the latest in a long, long, long line singing the praises of <img src="spyder.gif" width=15 height=15 align=middle border=0>s customer service. How they replace blades and repair so cheaply is beyond me!
Keepin' it real...real sharp, that is.

Rick H.,
Welcome to the Spydie forum!! <img src="smile.gif" width=15 height=15 align=middle border=0>
I have knives I need to send in, but I don't want them gone that long. <img src="sad.gif" width=15 height=15 align=middle border=0> I feel silly, but I would miss them. Oh well, some day I'll send them in. Maybe.

Blades,
I know exactly how you feel. It took me years to finally send my knives back because I'm so used to having one on me, and I didn't want to be without one. Since the Rookie is a smaller, lighter blade, I could usually get a good edge on it, but the Pro-Venator was another story. After busting the tip off the Rookie for the second time, I called Spyderco and sent 'em in. They were gone for about two weeks, and I live in NJ, which is across the country from Colorado. I couldn't be happier now.
Bite the bullet and send your knives in for service, you'll be glad you did.
