I Had a Bad Day, But the Mailman Made it Better. WARNING, DELICA ABUSE INSIDE

So I bent my FRN Delica's clip today. Not that big of a deal, but I was still a little sad. I walked past a piece of machinery at work and WHAM! I felt like someone was trying to pull my pants off. I looked down and to my horror discovered I'd snagged my clip.
Oopsie. I've got extras. I might try bending it back, to see if it will without breaking, we'll see.
The good news is there was something waiting for me when I got home.
Anybody else ever snap or badly bend a clip?

Paperclip, yes. My files were a mess for forty minutes. Luckily selectum has excellent W/R and they sent me one the next day, minus shipping and damages for using their name in bogus stories.

Nice snag on the waved Delica.... Or is it an Endura?
So, you should have absolutely no problem taking that bent clip off and straightening it out. You can use a large pair of pliers to pinch it from the end where the screws are and just give it a little bend. Place it back on the knife and see if you bent it enough.... If not just bend it a little more and Voila! It's similar to cold roll steel so its designed to bend and be bent back
-Best of Luck!

I used to snag and bend clips quite often in my earlier days. Now I've subconsciously adjusted how I sit in chairs with arms, get in and out of cars/trucks, walk past doors and other objects, etc. I think another thing that has helped me was moving my Spydies to my rear pocket instead of front. :spyder:

Jumped off a piece of equipment once and got hung up on my knife a couple of seconds before the clip snapped. It wasn't a Spyderco and I wouldn't expect any clip to hold up a 220 lb person.

I've bent one hourglass clip on a Delica (car door somehow). My bro did too. No bent or even snagged wire clips so far.
Luckily the Delica clip is like $4. Might as well try bending it back. It might not be like new but it won't frustrate you as much while waiting for a new one.

I managed to snap the clip on my Persistence while working. Broke right in half. The clip on my Delica seems to be sturdier. I bend it pretty bad one time, and it bend right back into position.

This is nothing compared to me dropping my NIB lil Temp after work yesterday and broke the tip off. Oh and to make things worse I was opening my Sage 2 this morning and it literally fell inches out of my hand onto my wooden work desk tip dug in and broke it! FML right now. On a side note, I will have some fun re-profiling these blades tonight. Anyone else have a bent clip? :)

That hardly counts as Delica abuse man. This is Delica abuse:
My wife somehow managed to do that while putting together some new bar stools we got for our house. They had the hardware in a small cardboard box underneath the seat, which was attached by a cloth strap stapled to the bottom of the seat. She was cutting the cloth and somehow that happened. Needless to say I was incredibly bummed and had to try real hard not to get upset about it, since that knife is no longer made and all. I wound up buying a Delica 4 FRN and cannibalizing it to put its blade in the green G10 Delica. :D

I have had to bend a couple clips back. It's not that bad. If you just take the clip off the knife it's very easy to bend back. I tend to bend it just barely too far, especially on the delica/endura 4s and once you put the clip back on it hugs the pocket nice and snug (but not too snug)

I did the same thing, snagged my clip and bent it out real far. Tried to bend it back and it snapped.

Yeah, it isn't a 100% perfect fit now, but close enough.

That's one of the main reasons I stopped clipping.
All my Spydies are carried loose in my pocket.
If the knife is too big for that, I won't carry it.

I've bent a few clips and they always go back with a little careful bending.
That Waved Delica that came in the mail.

The Waved Delica is without a doubt my faovorite Spyderco knife. It it about the perfect size and weight. I've got a Waved Delica with the combo blade (like 1/2 serrated). It is the best. I had a **** of a time finding it for sale with the combo blade. In short the Waved Delica is the ****. :spyder:
There are still some Waved Delica trainers out there to be had for about $60 on (EBAY). Pick one up you will not regeret it. I sit and play with the Waved Delica trainer every night when watching TV.
I plan ASAP to get another Waved Delica with the plane blade and dye the blue ish gray FRN handles BLACK with Rit Dye.

Another package came in the mail today, with some sort if black plastic box and triangular sticks... I'm not quite sure what it is. :D
