Looks great! ^^^^

The weather here has been dry lately and I've put a few hundred miles on my R1 over the past week.

Any recommendations on a new full face helmet? My EXO-1000 has been getting pretty ragged and I've had to glue the trim back on the last couple of years. I have an old Uclear bluetooth system in it mostly for music and am looking to upgrade that as well because it sounds terrible. I really like having the integrated sunglasses that drop down in the helmet, so I've been looking at another Scorpion but I'm open to suggestions...

I can’t help recommend a new helmet because I ride a different style bike, sportster, and have been wearing the same helmet for at least a couple years now. Although for a new bluetooth system I’ve been using a Sena 20s Evo since I got my new helmet and it’s been great to have. Four of my friends also have a Sena headset in their helmets and they really are awesome to have on group rides. The ability to clearly communicate with each other while riding is constantly proving to be useful.

The Sena 20s Evo is my only experience with a helmet Bluetooth system, so I don’t have much to compare it too but I like the product for the time I’ve had it. It’s good quality and easy to install. It connects to my phone and I can use it for music, phone calls, directions, radio, intercom, etc. The only thing that I wish was a little bit more intuitive and easier to do is connecting a large group of people. My friends and I have struggled with that on many trips, though we are usually able to successfully connect for the ride. Still I like the product enough that I feel comfortable recommending it.

Most of my riding was in the dark ages.
No GPS and the only tunes were the exhaust notes.
Interbike communications were hand and foot signals.

A Shoei with an amber face shield saw the most wear and tear.
One day riding through Colorado, forest fires were burning.
The smoke above the ridge had magical iridescent hues.

I stopped, got off, raised my face shield
and fished my digital camera out of the saddlebag.
When I turned toward the flames, the colors were gone.

Put up the camera, got on the bike,
put down my face shield and rode away.
Looked at the flaming mountain again
and there were the colors.

Stop, get camera, lift face shield
and colors were gone. (Don't get ahead of me.)

Back on the road and beautiful colors reappeared.
This time, I stopped and while looking at the fire
raised and lowered the amber face shield.
Colors, no colors, colors, no colors.

Went on group rides and long tours with a friend,
but my preference was to ride alone, in solitude,
with earplugs.
Probably something wrong with me.

Thanks guys, it really is a nice, fun bike. Not the fastest on the block, for sure, but it'll get you there in style.

As to helmets, I've had my Shoei GT-Air for a couple of years and have no complaints.

Not sure if the style would be best for a full on sport bike, although I used it with my GSXR1000, and it seemed to work fine.

R1s are fast, fast bikes...be careful out there. Did you post a pic of it yet?

Did for 40 plus years. Started on Honda’s, the Yamaha, move to Triumphs, finished on Harley’s.

Two accidents only, last one made me realize it was time to retire from Motorcycles.

People hate bikes, and don’t see you. Tired of being target of people turning left in your path.

Just got back from a three day motorcycle road trip through much of Vermont. I was keeping my eye out for that Africa Twin! ;)

We didn’t stop for any scenic photos unfortunately because we would have been stopping every five miles but I did grab a quick photo during one of our gas pit stops.

It was a perfect weekend for riding. The weather cooperated the whole time, the fall foliage was at its peak in a few areas, and the tourist traffic was low compared to what it can be in the fall.

Same here. I prefer peace and quiet inside the helmet. I normally don't think too much and just absorb the road, the scenery, and enjoy the ride.

I get more enjoyment riding alone myself , good therapy. No helmet or plugs for short rides , prefer to hear the Thunderheader . MG2

Awesome bikes in this thread, kinda hard for me looking at them cuz my last bike got sold years ago. Been looking at lotsa videos, especially Ducati and after hearing their 999 with a full Termignoni exhaust system I'm starting to think this could be the last one I ever get. There's one locally with less than 10,000 miles listed at $5,000 so if I wait a couple more years it might be listed at $3,500 with not a whole lot more miles on it. My 748 from 2001 had 100BHP for 200kg dry with just open Termignoni mufflers and was a blast to ride, this one has 130BHP for 186kg dry with a full Termignoni exhaust system!!!
