Introduction..

#1

Post by Waffle »

Hey guys.. I thought I had already introduced myself, but it appears I am mistaken. For that, I apologize.

Anywho.. I was bitten a ways back, but I unfortunately had my collection stolen from storage when I moved... with that, my "obsession" kind of just faded away. Did a little ebay search one day, bought myself a Tim Zowada Sprint, and my spydie sense was back and stronger than ever.

I am hoping to rebuild my collection over time. Enlisted late, but am in the DEP with the USMC. Pretty excited about the direction I'm headed. I hope to become much more active on this forum, make some friends, learn, receive and possibly give advice. I'm a little hesitant at times because I don't know a whole lot. I feel I've been out of it for so long that I've got a lot of catching up to do.

Knives have always fascinated me.. in particular, Spyderco. Love the Walker, love the Worker, Love the Zowada.. to name a few. My first ever Spyderco was a C56PS Tim Zowada. Believe it or not, stolen by my "friend". Rotten luck, but hey.. that's alright. I'm on the hunt..

So I guess that was my attempt at an intro. Looking forward to my stay!! :spyder: :D :spyder:

Just a friendly little bump back up. This got caught in the vBulletin less-than-perfect spam filter.

Waffle, welcome to our forum. We hope you enjoy your time with us. And more importantly, thank you for your service to our country.
There is nothing more important than this one day.

Welcome to the Forum, Waffle.

I am sorry to hear about your loss with your original collection. I can certainly empathize with you. (For what it's worth, I once had a SpyderCard and $200 dollars come up missing after my "best friend" came over for a visit many years ago. We parted ways soon after I discovered that he was the culprit).

On the bright side, it sounds like you are well on your way building a new collection.

Best of luck,

~S.

Thanks again! I've noticed a lot of members located in Colorado. How I envy you. If I were in Colorado I'd probably hang out at Spyderco all day(I wish I could say I'm kidding)! :spyder: :D :spyder: mmmm Spydercoooo

Nice to have you here, Waffle. I hope you can recover your knife or at least find a replacement for a decent price. Your service to our country is appreciated. I'm sure you'll fit in here just fine. :)

I may be a little slow in doing so, but I plan on creating an avatar and perhaps getting some pictures up. I am on a mobile device most of the time, so it gets a little old trying to navigate through the forums that way. Here and there I'll have a desktop available to me.. hopefully I can get up and going soon. :)

Glad to have you here Waffle! I sometimes feel the same way about wishing I lived in Colorado, near Spyderco. But I think Sal would laugh every time I walked in and out the door on paydays to make my deposit.

You and I(and I'm sure many others here) bleed spyder blood.. I just made that up. Cool huh? Actually, once I get to a better pay scale, I'm going to join me that there Spyderco Collector's Club(It still exists, right?).

Welcome Waffle, no need to feel hesitant about posting. Knowledge is in the eye of the beholder. It's not all about knowledge anyway, or I wouldn't have anything to say. Sorry to hear about your "lost" knives and thanks for your service.
