Manix XL - Wow

#1

Post by smikesmith3 »

Just got the Spyderco Manix XL...

I'm in love with it. Having big hands, I've always adapted to the knife but this thing is a perfect hold. The 'lip' at the bottom helps keep the knife perfectly in my hand.

I'm going to enjoy this, especially at the price point it is.

I believe the curve at the end of the handle is called a "pinky ramp", or at least that's the phrase I've seen before. I completely agree that it's a GREAT feature when done right giving a ton of control.

Oh, it looks really Mad Max too. Arguably more important than function. :D

Congratualtion. This is my favourite new knife of the 2012 catalog. Real big knife for big boys. Great buy for the money. Unfortunately I have to stop buying knives. My wife thinks I have a lot of them. I will buy it when, she change her mind.

This takes the C95 to another level. Will be my next Spyderco, without a doubt.

Nice! Are the liners skeletonized? Enjoy your new knife.

- best wishes, Jazz.

+ 1 The catalog states that the liners are skeletonized but some who have seen it say they are not.

Oooh really? I would like some clarification on this...gets more more interested if the liners are not drilled.

Can anyone comment?

I'm looking at one, and they're definitely not skeletonized.

Interesting....might have to jump on this before they go and "fix" it.

+1. Agreed. 100%. Leave the liners alone.

True. But the description of the XL says skeletonized, so was just going off that.

I want less weight, so skeletonized. I'll probably pass on solid. :(

- best wishes, Jazz.
